Prince sucks.
Bowie is borderline OK in small doses.
I have no opinion on Kanye.

Every day I have to restrain myself from entering the Bruce Springsteen thread to talk about how much I hate Bruce Springsteen, at least let me have this.

As silly as I think saying "Prince sucks" is, the reason Lament brought them up was this post by OrphBirds in Hell wrote:Prince sucks.

Well, for what it's worth, my antipathy for "The Boss" runs much deeper than my dislike of Prince which is really more of a general disconnect. "Sucks" is a very broad umbrella.theplatypus wrote:As silly as I think saying "Prince sucks" is, the reason Lament brought them up was this post by OrphBirds in Hell wrote:Prince sucks.

Chief Keef is just straight up a bad person. At least Kanye is only an insecure douche.Kevin Davis wrote:I do not know who Chief Keef is. Let's rip out some more "spenno posts" while the going's good: bart, I get the reference but, to the best of my knowledge, I've never actually heard that song. I don't think I've ever heard a Kanye song either for that matter, apart from that relatively recent one where he and a naked Kim are riding on a motorbike in the film clip (and I have only the vaguest recollection of that).

What's the appeal in going into a thread just to talk about how much you hate someone? I seriously don't get it.Birds in Hell wrote:Every day I have to restrain myself from entering the Bruce Springsteen thread to talk about how much I hate Bruce Springsteen, at least let me have this.

Hehe. Well, I will say that I've never understood the "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all" notion; positive and negative opinions are both equally valid and important components of conversation, especially when it comes to art. If I don't like something and I feel like talking about it, I will go into a thread and do so regardless of how much others may like it (or vice versa). I think that's why all of us make posts on a message board: we have things we feel like talking about, and it's (usually) fun to talk about them with other people.Kaius wrote:Let's ask an expert: LV?Lament wrote:What's the appeal in going into a thread just to talk about how much you hate someone? That said, there are times when I don't really get what a poster is trying to do. If I say something negative about something and no conversation is generated, I typically try to leave it at that and I won't keep making "hater" posts unless I have something new to say. But some of the repetitive negativity in the Kanye thread puzzles me a bit. It starts to feel a bit like troll-y thread derailment after a while. I get why it can feel bothersome to see a bunch of people praising something you hate without dissent, but there's always plenty of dissent when it comes to Ye, so I don't think that can really apply.
