Yeah, I'm doing this as well. The Color Purple was beautiful, but E.T. and Close Encounters felt like revelations this time around. The way he expresses themes, ideas, and emotions, his eye for visuals, effects, and cinematography, John Williams's immaculate scores - they are overwhelming cinematic experiences. But i love the cinical part of him as well...minority report blew my mind back then.
Yeah, Minority Report is good. But I definitely prefer sweeping, emotional Spielberg.
