Dude, I just recently played through it. There is no hurry at all. Take your time. There is a lot of unadvertised stuff/hidden gems in that game. Don't hurry.

I dont know. This game is pretty hard if you want remain completely stealthy. It doesn't really penalize you if you aren't though.

If I have to hunt down a rare invincible tiger on the other side of the world using only a toothpick to make an ammo pouch, i'm not interested.

Haven't played a game until 4am in awhile. I looked at the clock and was legitimately surprised at how long I had actually played MGS
