**The UFC 190 pay-per-view took place from the HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil with a seven-fight main card. There were a lot of complaints during the show about the actual length of the pay-per-view (which was hilarious, because after the main event there were people complaining it was too short, as usual and yet this is going to be one of the biggest pay-per-views of the year and yet we’re still debating over people being turned off by Ronda Rousey’s quick fights). The situation was that the two finals for TUF Brazil were originally schedule for the end of June for a Fight Night card but because of the visa issues they were moved to this card in Brazil. Globo wanted to air the finals as well as the top two fights and therefore you had seven fights on the main card and the final four aired on Globo in Brazil. Below are the results from the show:
*Guido Cannetti over Hugo Viana by unanimous decision (29-28 all)
*Vitor Miranda over Clint Hester by TKO at 2:38 of Round 2
*Yuri Alcantara over Leandro Issa by unanimous decision (29-27, 29-28, 29-28)
*Warlley Alves over Nordine Taleb by guillotine at 4:11 of Round 2
*Patrick Cummins over Rafael Cavalcante by TKO at 0:45 of Round 3
*Demian Maia over Neil Magny by rear-naked choke at 2:52 of Round 2
*Claudia Gadelha over Jessica Aguilar by unanimous decision (30-27 all)
*Antonio Silva over Soa Palelei by TKO at 0:41 of Round 2
*Stefan Struve over Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira by unanimous decision (30-27 all)
*Reginaldo Vieira over Dileno Lopes by unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28) to win the UFC bantamweight contract
*Glaico Franca over Fernando Bruno by rear-naked choke at 4:46 of Round 3 to win the UFC lightweight contract
*Mauricio “Shogun” Rua over Antonio Rogerio Nogueira by unanimous decision (29-28 all)
*Ronda Rousey over Bethe Correia by KO at 0:34 of Round 1

**The fight of the night bonus went to Mauricio “Shogun” Rua and Antonio Rogerio Nogueira and the two performance bonuses went to Ronda Rousey and Demian Maia.

**UFC president Dana White announced after the card that Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira is going to retire from the sport and will be taking a job with the company, similar to the likes of Chuck Liddell, Forrest Griffin and Matt Hughes. Nogueira will go down as one of the greatest heavyweights in the history of the sport and was the top heavyweight in sport until his March 2003 fight with Fedor Emelianenko. Nogueria was still able to withstand a lot of damage in his fight with Struve and had many moments of his own during the fight where he connected with his strikes and even got the back of Struve very briefly.

**Variety reported today that Paramount Pictures has secured the rights to Ronda Rousey’s autobiography, “My Fight / Your Fight”, which was co-written by Rousey and her sister, Maria Burns-Ortiz. The article stated that Rousey is expected to fight one more time before the end of 2015 and that one of the provisions was that Rousey wanted to star in the movie. Mark Bomback will be in charge of the screen adaptation and Mary Parent will serve as the producer of the film but there is no timetable on a shooting schedule.

**World Series of Fighting president Ray Sefo will be making an announcement regarding the actions of Rousimar Palhares on Tuesday. WSOF executive Ali Abdel-Aziz stated on Twitter that he watched the fight with Palhares and Jake Shields and agrees that Palhares gouged the eyes of Shields and held onto the kimura too long at the end of the fight.

**Dana White caused an up roar on Twitter over the weekend when he got into an argument with a fan regarding the WWE Network pricing their monthly events at $9.99 and White responding that fake wrestling should be priced at $9.99. This caused a ton of people in the industry to respond to White, including Bully Ray, Taz, Jeremy Borash (who noted he was going to buy UFC 190 and cancelled his order and donated his $50 to paralyzed wrestler, Nik Bali), Bob Ryder, Maria Kanellis, Austin Aries, Frankie Kazarian and probably many more.

**The World Series of Fighting card was utterly chaotic for a series of incidents. First off was a fight in the stands involving Khabib Nurmagomedov, who had words with Nick and Nate Diaz and led to punches being thrown, a beer bottle being tossed and security having to separate them for an incident inside the arena and later at the concession stand (would have been even stranger if this took place in Tupelo, Mississippi). WSOF executive Ali Abdel-Aziz has stated that the Diaz brothers are now banned from attending WSOF events. Below is video of the incident:

Later in the night, there was the latest controversy involving Rousimar Palhares and holding on a kimura that he applied to Jake Shields in the main event. Palhares executed a beautiful sweep and applied the kimura while referee Steve Mazzagatti ran up from behind them and started pounding on the back of Palhares, before he finally released the hold. Shields tapped before Mazzagatti put his hands on Palhares and Palhares cranked on the hold. An official ruling by WSOF or the Nevada Athletic Commission has not been made but the promotion is considering stripping Palhares of the welterweight title. After Palhares let go of the submission, Shields punched Palhares in the face and complained afterwards that he was gouged in the eyes eight times by Palhares throughout the fight and had never been gouged once prior in his career.

**Below are the main card results from the World Series of Fighting show last night in Las Vegas:
*Islam Mamedov over Jimmy Spicuzza by TKO at 4:47 of Round 1
*Abubakar Nurmagomedov over Jorge Moreno by unanimous decision
*Clifford Starks over Mike Kyle by unanimous decision
*Marlon Moraes over Sheymon Moraes by rear-naked choke at 3:46 of Round 3 to retain the bantamweight title
*Rousimar Palhares over Jake Shields by kimura at 2:02 of Round 3 to retain the welterweight title

**It was announced on UFC Tonight that the main event for the UFC’s debut card in Melbourne, Australia will be Robbie Lawler defending the welterweight title against Carlos Condit, which had been talked about for over a week after Jeremy Botter first noted that the fight was in the works. The UFC has yet to announce if the Melbourne card will be taking place at Ethiad Stadium or the smaller Rod Laver Arena.

**Another welterweight fight that was announced by Ariel Helwani on UFC Tonight will see Johny Hendricks taking on Tyron Woodley at UFC 192 on October 3rd in Houston, Texas. Hendricks appeared to be the frontrunner for the next title fight after defeating Matt Brown earlier this year and setting up a rubber match with Lawler for the title. Woodley has been campaigning for a fight with Hendricks for a long time. It is worth noting that after using the rankings as justification for choosing Chad Mendes over Frankie Edgar to fight Conor McGregor and then picking Alexander Gustafsson over Ryan Bader for the next light heavyweight title fight, that this time they ignored the ranking as Condit leapfrogged both Hendricks and Woodley for the title fight and has losses to both of them.

**WSOF president Ray Sefo appeared on The MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani to announce that the promotion was stripping Rousimar Palhares of his welterweight title and suspending the fighter indefinitely. The punishment comes as a result of the actions of Palhares from this past Saturday at the WSOF 22 card in Las Vegas where he was warned repeatedly of gouging the eyes of Jake Shields and later holding onto a kimura for too long. Shields responded by punching Palhares in the face after the fight. Sefo would not comment on the plans for the vacant welterweight title.

**UFC lightweight Joe Lauzon makes the case with video evidence that Rousimar Palhares is “kind of a dick”:

**The UFC has announced a number of fights for the UFC 192 card on October 3rd in Houston, Texas. The card is headlined by Daniel Cormier defending the light heavyweight title against Alexander Gustafsson and will also feature a women’s bantamweight bout between Jessica Eye and Julianna Pena, which is a big fight for Pena and will put her into the upper echelon of the division. They have also added a flyweight bout between Sergio Pettis and Chris Cariaso, a welterweight fight with Albert Tumenov and Alan Jouban and a featherweight fight with TUF Latin America season one winner Yair Rodriguez and Daniel Hooker.

**Kelvin Gastelum is moving back down to the welterweight division and will headline the TUF Latin America Finale card on November 21st against Matt Brown in Monterrey, Mexico. Gastelum missed weight for the second time this past January, when he fought Tyron Woodley at UFC 183 and was forced to fight at middleweight this past June and defeated Nate Marquardt. Gastelum is one of the coaches on the second season of TUF Latin America along with Efrain Escudero, who will fight Leandro Silva on the same card in November.

**Diego Sanchez will be cutting down to featherweight in order to fight Ricardo Lamas on the same November 21st card in Monterrey. This will mark the fourth weight class that Sanchez has competed at in the UFC. Sanchez hasn’t fought since an extremely controversial decision win over Ross Pearson in June of 2014, when Sanchez was competing at lightweight. Sanchez won the first season of TUF at 185 pounds and then immediately returned to welterweight after the show and then would go down to lightweight in February of 2009 and eventually challenged then lightweight champion, BJ Penn, in December 2009 and was stopped the fifth round. Following the Penn fight he would return to welterweight and then cut back down to lightweight in 2013.

**Below are the results from last night’s UFC Fight Night card in Nashville, Tennessee at the Bridgestone Arena in front of 7,539 and a gate of $454,551:
*Scott Holtzman over Anthony Christodoulou by rear-naked choke at 2:40 of Round 3 – Holtzman dominated this fight standing with his strikes landing consistently up through the finish
*Marlon Vera over Roman Salazar by triangle armbar at 2:15 of Round 2
*Jonathan Wilson over Chris Dempsey by KO at 0:50 of Round 1
*Frankie Saenz over Sirwan Kakai by split decision (30-27, 28-29, 30-27) – this was a close fight but Saenz was the better striker throughout.
*Dustin Ortiz over Willie Gates by TKO at 2:58 of Round 3 – Gates was taking this fight just 27 days after he last fought and this was a strong argument against quick turnarounds for fights. Ortiz dominated this fight, he was constantly able to take him down, mount Gates and finally finished him in the third. Gates is much better than this fight displayed.
*Chris Camozzi over Tom Watson by unanimous decision (30-26, 29-27, 29-27) – Not a good fight, Watson was deducted a point in the second round for his second low blow and Camozzi won the first and third.
*Uriah Hall over Oluwale Bamgbose by TKO at 2:32 of Round 1
*Ray Borg over Geane Herrera by unanimous decision (30-27 all) – Herrera took the fight on short notice and Borg is a very tough flyweight. Herrera opened up Borg with an elbow off his back and Borg was losing a lot of blood but still won all three rounds. Borg also missed weight the day prior.
*Amanda Nunes over Sara McMann by rear-naked choke at 2:53 of Round 1 – A bit of an upset and a tough loss for McMann, who is 34 years old and has already fought Ronda Rousey. Nunes cracked her with a shot and then took her back and got the tap.
*Jared Rosholt over Timothy Johnson by unanimous decision (29-28 all) – Johnson lost the first two rounds and both were super tired in the third but Johnson started landing big shots near the end of the round and might have been able to have stopped Rosholt but instead took him down and didn’t finish.
*Derek Brunson over Sam Alvey by TKO at 2:19 of Round 1 – Alvey wasn’t happy with the stoppage but later did admit he got his ass kicked. It may have been a bit early but Alvey absorbed a lot of strikes in a short window and looked dazed at the end.
*Beneil Dariush over Michael Johnson by split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28) – A lot of people protested this decision and I had it 29-28 for Johnson with Dariush winning the final round. It wasn’t to the degree of Diego Sanchez vs. Ross Pearson last year but two of the three judges gave the second round to Dariush and all three judges awarded the first round to Johnson.
*Glover Teixeira over Ovince Saint Preux by rear-naked choke at 3:10 of Round 3 – Saint Preux was doing well during the exchanges and had Teixeira hurt in the first round but Teixeira was always able to get the takedown and tired Saint Preux out from constantly defending. Teixeira really needed this win as he was coming off back-to-back losses.

**The Fight of the Night bonus went to Glover Teixeira vs. Ovince Saint Preux and the Performance bonuses went to Amanda Nunes and Marlon Vera.

**The UFC has added a heavyweight fight between Derrick Lewis and Anthony Hamilton for the UFC 192 pay-per-view on October 3rd in Houston, Texas.

**The UFC only has one more show for the rest of August with the Saskatoon, Saskatchewan card on August 23rd (the same night as SummerSlam) with two great fights on top with Max Holloway vs. Charles Oliveira and Erick Silva vs. Rick Story.

Anderson Silva suspended one year for failed drug tests
Image
Brett Okamoto, ESPN Staff Writer

LAS VEGAS -- Former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva, widely considered the greatest mixed martial artist of all time, has been suspended one year by the Nevada State Athletic Commission because of multiple failed drug tests.

Silva, 40, appeared before the NSAC for a disciplinary hearing on Tuesday; he had failed several tests before and after his Jan. 31 fight against Nick Diaz at UFC 183.

The one-year suspension is dated retroactively to Jan. 31. He was also fined $380,000 and must submit a clean test before he can be re-licensed. The result of the fight, a unanimous decision victory for Silva, changes to a no-contest.

Silva (33-6) maintained his innocence throughout the disciplinary hearing, stating the failed drug tests were a result of a contaminated sexual-performance enhancing drug he received in an unmarked vial from a friend who lives in Thailand.

The Brazilian fighter tested positive for drostanolone, an anabolic steroid, in addition to a form of androstane, on Jan. 9. He tested positive for drostanolone again on Jan. 31, as well as anti-anxiety medication, which also is considered a banned substance.

He was still allowed to compete on Jan. 31 despite the previously failed test because the NSAC had not received the results from its lab in Salt Lake City.

"I am human and made mistakes," Silva told the commission through a translator. "It definitely was a mistake. If I had known this supplement that I was taking for something else would have caused this sort of problem, I never would have taken it."

Silva's attorney, Michael Alonso, argued before the commission that because the drostanolone came from a contaminated sexual-performance enhancer, Silva shouldn't face discipline. He attributed the androstane to a contaminated supplement as well, but couldn't identify which substance Silva was on at the time that produced the result. At no point did Silva's defense present the NSAC with documentation regarding its findings of any contaminated substance.

The NSAC took further issue with Silva's failure to reveal supplements he was on leading up to Jan. 31 on a pre-fight questionnaire. Silva said he did not reveal his use of the sexual-performance enhancer because of privacy concerns. He said he did not list the anti-anxiety medication, which his manager, Ed Soares, said was prescribed well before the fight, because he hadn't used it regularly and did so only the night before the fight to help him sleep.

NSAC chairman Francisco Aguilar said there were "major inconsistencies" in Silva's defense. Silva contradicted himself at one point regarding the exact dates on which he allegedly consumed the sexual-performance enhancing drug.

Silva's defense also attempted to rely on a series of tests the fighter passed both before and after the Diaz fight. On Jan. 19, Silva passed an unannounced blood and urine test administered by the NSAC. He also passed two tests on the night of the contest, as the NSAC utilized two different methods to test him and sent the samples to two labs. The NSAC found, however, that the negative tests had no bearing on the positive ones.

Silva previously had never failed a test in his professional career, which dates to 1997. This was the first time, however, he was subjected to random, out-of-competition testing, which the NSAC started to utilize somewhat regularly in the past year.

Immediately prior to the NSAC's unanimous vote for a one-year suspension, commissioner Anthony Marnell said he didn't believe that Silva's testimony regarding the failed tests was complete.

"I don't feel like we're getting the whole story," Marnell said directly to Silva. "I'm not going to say it's a lie. I'm not going to say you're not telling the whole truth under oath -- but we're not getting the whole picture here.

"I'm not taking anything away from Mr. Silva's excellent career, but this is the first time he's been subject to enhanced testing. It's hard to put a lot of credibility into his prior test results -- not his career, his test results. I feel there is some intention here to use a product to come from a devastating injury. Not saying that's it, but I have that feeling in my stomach."

Silva returned from a 13-month injury layoff to fight Diaz. He suffered a broken left tibia and fibula while throwing a kick during a fight against Chris Weidman at UFC 168 in December 2013.

**Ariel Helwani reported on UFC Tonight that Cain Velasquez will get an automatic rematch with Fabricio Werdum for the heavyweight title. A date and venue have not been announced but the likely candidates would be January 3rd or February 6th in Las Vegas. Werdum won the title from Velasquez in June at UFC 188 by submitting Velasquez in the third round in Mexico City. Fighting an elevation proved to be a huge factor for Velasquez in the fight so it is notable that this fight is being targeted for Las Vegas and how much of a factor that will play in the rematch.

**The UFC announced today that Rafael dos Anjos will defend his lightweight title for the first time, against Donald Cerrone on December 19th in Orlando, Florida on FOX. Dos Anjos has been out of action since winning the title this past March at UFC 185, where he defeated Anthony Pettis for the title. The December 19th card will be the final UFC event of 2015.

**Rousimar Palhares and Jake Shields were both issued temporary suspensions today from the Nevada Athletic Commission following their actions at the WSOF 22 card in Las Vegas. There hearings for disciplinary action will take place at a future meeting.

**It was also announced on UFC Tonight that Liz Carmouche will fight Raquel Pennington in three-weeks at UFC 191 on September 5th in Las Vegas. Carmouche is coming off a decision win over Leslie Smith from earlier this year and Pennington last fought at UFC 184 in February, losing to Holly Holm by split decision.

**Herb Dean will be the referee for the flyweight championship fight between Demetrious Johnson and John Dodson on September 5th at UFC 191 in Las Vegas. The judges assigned to the fight are: Marcos Rosales, Tony Weeks and Derek Cleary.

**Bellator has added a pair of featherweight fights for the Bellator 143 card on September 25th in Hidalgo, Texas with Henry Corrales set to fight Emmanuel Sanchez and Gleristone Santos taking on John Teixeira. The card will be headlined by Joe Warren and L.C. Davis in a bantamweight fight.

**The UFC sent out the following statement regarding Anderson Silva after he was suspended for one-year (retroactive to January 31st of 2015) and fined $380,000 by the Nevada Athletic Commission:

Following the Nevada Athletic Commission's hearing today, Anderson Silva is required to serve a 12-month suspension from competition, retroactive from his last fight on January 31. At the conclusion of his suspension, Silva must present a clean test upon reapplication of a license before his next fight in Nevada. The UFC organization maintains a strict, consistent policy against the use of any illegal and/or performance enhancing drugs, stimulants or masking agents by its athletes, and fully supports the Commission's ongoing efforts to ensure clean competition by all MMA athletes.

UFC recognizes Silva's great career and looks forward to his return to the Octagon in 2016.

**It was announced on ESPN Sportscenter on that Chris Weidman and Luke Rockhold have been added to the UFC 194 card on December 12th alongside the Jose Aldo vs. Conor McGregor featherweight title fight. It was known these two were going to fight for the middleweight title but there were a number of cards they could have landed on in between November – February. That period is going to be such a loaded one for the company as virtually every UFC champion is ready to fight in that time frame and they are going to have to spread them out. Below are all of the title fights expected to happen next in each division and the time frame:
*Fabricio Werdum vs. Cain Velasquez (January of February)
*Daniel Cormier vs. Alexander Gustafsson (October 3rd and the winner could fight in April of next year)
*Chris Weidman vs. Luke Rockhold (December 12th)
*Robbie Lawler vs. Carlos Condit (possibly in the main event of November card in Australia)
*Rafael dos Anjos vs. Donald Cerrone (December 19th on FOX)
*Jose Aldo vs. Conor McGregor (December 12th)
*T.J. Dillashaw vs. Dominick Cruz (providing Cruz is healthy, they could wait on this one until February at the earliest)
*Demetrious Johnson vs. John Dodson (September 5th and winner will be ready in early 2016, probably won’t fight until at least March)
*Ronda Rousey vs. Miesha Tate (seems likely for January 2nd card)
*Joanna Jedrzejczyk vs. Claudia Gadelha (not a major fight but is a good #2 fight on a big show for them to be a showcase fight, Gadelha has a torn ligament in her finger and this fight won’t happen in 2015)

**UFC president Dana White has confirmed that UFC 193 in Melbourne, Australia will take place at Etihad Stadium (formerly Colonial Stadium), which can hold up to 55,000 people and the largest venue the promotion has run since UFC 129 at the Rogers Centre in Toronto. The main event of the card will feature Robbie Lawler defending the welterweight title against Carlos Condit. The WWE ran the same stadium in August of 2002 and was headlined by a three-way match with The Rock, Triple H and Brock Lesnar for the WWE title.

**TMZ Sports reports that Aaron Zalewski, the husband of UFC ring card girl Brittney Palmer, will not be facing attempted murder charges. The story was made public about Zalewski allegedly attacking Palmer after overhearing a phone conversation involving Palmer and her casting agent. The two are scheduled to have a meeting with the L.A City Attorney and if he shows contrition he will not be prosecuted.

**UFC light heavyweight Anthony Johnson has gotten himself into trouble over a heated argument he had at a gym with a female, and then posted a recap with his rant on Facebook. Johnson’s original posted is below:

To the ugly girl in the gym built like a bag of dry dog food, this is for you. If you get in my way or any other athlete way again I’ll through your yoga mat across the gym AGAIN.

Who in their right mind stretches where ppl are suppose to lift? Don’t ever run your mouth at me again you won’t win that battle I will. Talking about it was rude that I lifted next to you while you were stretching. You need more than stretching to help that beat up body.

Run to the front desk again crying talking about you feel threaten and gonna go to social media. I really don’t care! I’ve been through worse! That’s a athletes gym not a yoga studio. That fake crying does nothing for anybody btw. Just like the guy said you live in his neighborhood and you exaggerate and overreact all the time …

So one more time don’t run your mouth and don’t do yoga stretching where ppl lift weights or I’ll snatch the mat from under you AGAIN and throw it AGAIN …

Understand? Good girl …

One more thing stop wearing sports bras when your tummy look like a old country red clay dirt road.

The UFC has come out announced that they have launched a third party investigation into the issue and releasing a statement that they were aware of the situation involving Johnson. It is public knowledge that there have been allegations of domestic violence made against Johnson in the past, including a no contest plea in 2010 and an investigation by the UFC last year over allegations against Johnson. He is scheduled to fight on September 5th at UFC 191 against Jimi Manuwa and Johnson has since issued the following apology:

I'm man enough to admit when I'm wrong and yesterday I was absolutely wrong. I shouldn't have gotten that upset from the start, but I did, I mean, I'm human. I said some pretty nasty things about a female from my gym while full of emotions (not a good idea) so I do wanna apologize to her for being rude as I was and not taking a break to relax after our argument.

Sorry to everyone else too for having to witness me getting upset about a argument in the gym. I'm not going to sugarcoat it and make it seem like I'm a angel because I'm not, but I will admit when I'm wrong. Other than that I hope everybody has a awesome day.

**Liz Carmouche is off the UFC 191 card on September 5th and Jessica Andrade will step in to take her spot against Raquel Pennington. This is a rematch from a fight at UFC 171 in March 2014 with Andrade winning the first fight by split decision.

**A number of fights have been announced for the UFC’s Fight Night card on November 7th in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Glover Teixeira will take on Patrick Cummins in a light heavyweight bout, Tom Lawlor is set to fight Fabio Maldonado in another fight at light heavyweight and Viscardi Andrade will meet Gasan Umalatov on the same show, which is headlined by Vitor Belfort vs. Dan Henderson.

**The UFC has officially added Antonio Silva vs. Mark Hunt to the UFC 193 card at Etihad Stadium in Melbourne, Australia for the November 15th card. This a rematch from one of the greatest heavyweight fights in company history from December 2013 but somewhat tainted when Silva failed his post-fight drug test for elevated levels of testosterone. Silva is coming off a win over Soa Palelei and Hunt is coming off a brutal loss to Stipe Miocic from this past May.

**The UFC has also added a middleweight bout between Michael Bisping and Robert Whittaker to the UFC 193 card in Melbourne. This is a tough fight for Bisping as Whittaker is a very good striker, but a win for Bisping would put him into the top mix at 185 pounds.

**The UFC will hold the TUF 22 Finale card on Friday December 11th in Las Vegas with Joe Lauzon set to take on Evan Dunham and Ryan LaFlare taking on Mike Pierce on the card. This will be Pierce’s first fight since October of 2013, where he was injured by Rousimar Palhares, who didn’t let go of his fight ending submission and was released by the UFC as a result. This card will take place on the night before UFC 194, featuring Jose Aldo vs. Conor McGregor and Chris Weidman vs. Luke Rockhold.

**Roan Carniero has pulled out of the September 27th UFC card in Tokyo for his fight with Gegard Mousasi. Uriah Hall will step in to take the spot of Carneiro and fought earlier this month and defeated Oluwale Bamgbose.

**Bellator has announced the following fights for their November 6th card in St. Louis, which will be categorized as a major “tent pole event” for the promotion and take place at the Scottrade Center and air on Spike:
*Patricio “Pitbull” Freire vs. Daniel Straus for the featherweight title
*Will Brooks vs. Marcin Held for the lightweight title
*Pat Curran vs. Justin Lawrence
*Michael Chandler vs. TBA
*Bobby Lashley vs. TBA

**The UFC held their first card in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan in front of 7,202 and a gate of $949,000 at the SaskTel Center:
*Misha Cirkunov over Daniel Jolly by KO at 4:45 of Round 1
*Shane Campbell over Elias Silverio by unanimous decision (29-28 all)
*Chris Kelades over Chris Beal by split decision (29-28, 27-30, 29-28)
*Nikita Krylov over Marcos Rogerio de Lima by rear-naked choke at 2:29 of Round 1
*Felipe Arantes over Yves Jabouin by armbar at 4:21 of Round 1
*Frankie Perez over Sam Stout by TKO at 0:54 of Round 1
*Valerie Letourneau over Maryna Moroz by unanimous decision (30-27, 29-28, 29-28)
*Olivier Aubin-Mercier over Tony Sims by unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28)
*Francisco Trinaldo over Chad Laprise by TKO at 2:43 of Round 1
*Patrick Cote over Josh Burkman by TKO at 1:26 of Round 3
*Neil Magny over Erick Silva by split decision (30-27, 28-29, 29-28)
*Max Holloway over Charles Oliveira by TKO (injury) at 1:39 of Round 1

The main event was ended early after Charles Oliveira grabbed his shoulder in pain and the fight was waved after Oliveira shot in for a takedown. It was diagnosed as a micro tear of his esophagus, which is much more serious than what it appeared to be with a shoulder injury. Afterwards, Holloway was pushing for a fight with Frankie Edgar.

**The Fight of the Night bonus went to Patrick Cote vs. Josh Burkman with Frankie Perez and Felipe Arantes taking the performance bonuses, all for $50,000.

**The strangest post-fight interview was with Frankie Perez, who stopped Sam Stout in the opening minute of their fight and then told Jon Anik he was retiring at the age of 26. Perez later stated he had the best camp of his life and even won the $50,000 performance bonus but seems committed to retiring at this point.

**The UFC has announced that the rumored b out between Thiago Alves and Benson Henderson is set for the UFC’s debut card in Seoul, South Korea on November 28th in a welterweight bout. The card will also feature Mirko Cro Cop taking on Anthony Hamilton as well as Dong-Hyun Kim vs. Jorge Masvidal and Yoshihiro Akiyama taking on Alberto Mina.

**World Series of Fighting executive Ali Abdel-Aziz announced on The MMA Hour today that the promotion will be holding a one-night, eight-man lightweight tournament on November 20th at the WSOF 25 card in Seattle, Washington. The tournament winner will receive a lightweight title shot against the winner of the upcoming fight between Justin Gaethje and Luis Palomino. The eight tournament fighters are scheduled to be: Islam Mamedov, Mike Ricci, Joao Zeferino, Rich Patinshnock, Jorge Patino, Brian Cobb, the winner of LaRye Burley vs. Brian Foster (fighting on September 18th) and an eighth fighter to be announced.

**Miesha Tate posted the following statement regarding Holly Holm receiving the next title fight instead of her:

I am extremely disappointed how all the events unfolded this morning regarding news that I will not be fighting Ronda Rousey. I was told after my last win that I had earned the title shot. I've already begun training for Rousey and I was shocked to hear the announcement this morning. I regret this for not only myself, but my team, sponsors and the fans who like me believed my next fight was for the title.

**The Orlando Sentinel reported a pair of fights that have been added to the UFC on FOX card on December 19th in Orlando. C.B. Dollaway will meet Nate Marquardt in a middleweight bout and Josh Samman will meet the returning Tamdan McCrory. McCrory last fought for the UFC in 2009 and then took a five-year hiatus from the sport before resurfacing in Bellator and winning his last two fights and left the organization for a better offer from the UFC.

**Lance Pugmire of the Los Angeles Times is reporting that an announcement will be made by UFC president Dana White that Joanna Jedrzejczyk will defend the women’s strawweight title against Claudia Gadelha on the same UFC 195 card, underneath the Ronda Rousey vs. Holly Holm fight. Jedrzejczyk won the title this past March at UFC 185 over Carla Esparza and successfully defended the title in June against Jessica Penne. Gadelha is coming off a strong win over Jessica Aguilar but did suffer a finger injury during the fight with a torn ligament in her left middle finger. Jedrzejczyk and Gadelha fought in December of last year with Jedrzejczyk winning a narrow split decision.

**UFC welterweight Jordan Mein has announced his retirement at the age of 25. Mein is young but has been fighting professionally since 2006 (his first pro fight was against Rory MacDonald) and retires with a record of 29-10. Mein entered the UFC in 2013 and became the first fighter to ever stop Dan Miller, which took place at UFC 158 in Montreal. Mein then returned the next month and lost to Matt Brown and would not fight again for another year. He last fought this past January, where he was stopped by Thiago Alves at UFC 183. Mein won the opening round convincingly and was caught with a kick to the body in the second round and was finished.

**The TUF Finale card on Friday December 11th is going to be a loaded card on the eve of UFC 194. The main event will feature featherweights Frankie Edgar and Chad Mendes squaring off, which is a great fight. I liked the idea of Edgar vs. Max Holloway as it guarantees a title fight for the winner and also a substitute if either Jose Aldo or Conor McGregor are injured going into UFC 194. In the case of Mendes, I can’t see them going with a third fight between Aldo and Mendes, if both are victorious and it could be a stretch to go back to McGregor vs. Mendes so quickly after UFC 189. The same finale card will also feature the return of Khabib Nurmagomedov as he takes on Tony Ferguson.

**The UFC has confirmed that heavyweights Junior dos Santos and Alistair Overeem will finally fight on December 19th at the UFC on FOX card in Orlando. The two have been linked together ever since Overeem came to the UFC as the two were supposed to fight in 2012 at UFC 146, but Overeem failed a pre-fight drug test and was removed from the card. Dos Santos has not fought since last December and it will be a full year between fights. He has had a lot of wars with Cain Velasquez and the Stipe Miocic in his last outing, so this fight is going to show where dos Santos is at in the heavyweight mix.

**A lightweight bout between Nate Diaz and Michael Johnson has also been added to the UFC on FOX card on December 19th and will be an entire year since Diaz last fought as he lost to Rafael dos Anjos in December 2014. Johnson is coming off a very controversial split decision loss to Beneil Dariush.

**Stefan Struve and Jared Rosholt have been added to the UFC 193 card on November 15th in Melbourne, Australia at Etihad Stadium. Struve is coming off a unanimous decision win over Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira at UFC 190, which was his first win since 2012. Rosholt is 5-1 in the UFC and won his last two fights over Josh Copeland and Timothy Johnson.

**Below are the Countdown to UFC 191 videos, previewing Demetrious Johnson vs. John Dodson for the flyweight title, Andrei Arlovski vs. Frank Mir and Anthony Johnson vs. Jimi Manuwa:

**The UFC has added a women’s strawweight bout between Michelle Waterson and Tecia Torres to the UFC 194 card on December 12th in Las Vegas. Torres is coming off wins over Angela Magana and Angela Hill by unanimous decision, while Waterson made her UFC debut in July with her own win over Angela Magana, by rear-naked coke at the TUF 21 Finale card.

**Bellator has announced two championship fights for the Bellator 144 card on October 23rd in Uncasville, Connecticut. Marcos Galvao is set the defend the bantamweight title against former champion Eduardo Dantas and the vacant middleweight title will be decided in a fight between former champion Brandon Halsey and Rafael Carvalo. Halsey failed to make weight for his title defence against Kendall Grove earlier this year and was stripped of his title as a result, but did defeat Grove the next night. The Bellator 144 card will feature Michael Page and Brennan Ward in individual fights, with no opponents announced yet.

Image
**A thumb injury to UFC welterweight champion Robbie Lawler has forced the UFC to drastically change plans for the UFC 193 card in Melbourne, Australia. The injury to Lawler will remove the welterweight title fight with Carlos Condit from the card, and will now feature Ronda Rousey defending the women’s bantamweight title against Holly Holm on November 15th at Etihad Stadium. The women’s title fight was originally announced for January 2nd in Las Vegas and will now see Rousey defend her title for the second consecutive fight, outside of North America.

The addition of Rousey should greatly enhance the demand for tickets at Etihad Stadium, which is being structured to fit 70,000 people for the UFC’s debut in the state of Victoria. Rousey vs. Holm will join Antonio Silva vs. Mark Hunt and Michael Bisping vs. Robert Whittaker as the key fights on the show. The fact that Rousey did such a high number of pay-per-view buys at UFC 190, outside of the U.S., likely gave the UFC confidence that Rousey is immune to the hit the UFC typically takes on a non-North American pay-per-view card.

**Here are the main card results from Bellator 141 Sat night from Temecula, California:
*Marloes Coenen over Arlene Blencowe by armbar at 3:23 of Round 2
*Justin Wren over Josh Burns by unanimous decision (30-27, 30-26, 30-26)
*Patricky Freire over Saad Awad by unanimous decision (30-27 all)
*Brandon Girtz over Melvin Guillard by split decision (29-27, 28-29, 29-27)

**The fight between Lorenzo Hood and Raphael Butler was scrapped during the day after Hood felt a pop in his knee while warming up in the locker room. They moved the women’s bout between Coenen and Biencowe to the televised portion.

**Bellator has announced the tournament brackets for the September 19th light heavyweight tournament in San Jose. Muhammad “King Mo” Lawal will meet Linton Vassell and Emanuel Newton will face off with former UFC fighter Phil Davis. There will be an alternate bout as Francis Carmont will take on Philipe Lins. The semi-finals and finals will take place on the same night, with the winner receiving a future title against the winner of Liam McGeary and Tito Ortiz, which headlines the September 19th card.

**The UFC has announced that due to “inconclusive evidence” that the promotion has reinstated heavyweight Travis Browne, following allegations of domestic abuse. Browne was pulled from all UFC related appearances during International Fight Week in July, following allegations from his wife, Jenna Renee Webb, who posted photos of the injuries she sustained. Browne has released the following statement to address the allegations:

I’d like to first thank my family, friends, fans & team for the overwhelming support they have shown me during this challenging time. This 2 month period has taught me that strength truly does come from within. Sometimes saying nothing, requires more strength than saying everything. I made a conscious choice to keep quiet, comply and put my faith in the organization that has provided an amazing life for me and my family (UFC). They were forthright and honest from the beginning in stating that they took these allegations extremely seriously & were on a mission to get to the truth. I am so excited that this investigation has concluded and that i have the privilege to get back in the cage and do what I was put on this earth to do. In closing, my children are my life, they are my heart, they are my soul. Kaleo and Keawe have been taught to show women the utmost respect and that gift of parenting with a purpose is something that i can hold my head high and continue doing with pride.

**Legendary heavyweight Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira announced his retirement on Tuesday at the age of 39. Nogueira, who was the top heavyweight in the sport, until his March 2003 loss to Fedor Emelianenko, retires with a 34-10-1 and 1 no contest after a sixteen-year career. Nogueira was a standout for the RINGS organization and debuted for Pride in July of 2001 and would become the inaugural heavyweight champion of the organization in November of 2001, when he defeated Heath Herring at Pride 17. His incredible submission base was untouchable at the heavyweight ranks and has a career year in 2002 with wins over Enson Inoue, Sane Kikuta, a legendary fight with Bob Sapp and then submitted Semmy Schilt and Dan Henderson that same year.

Nogueira would remain with Pride until the promotion went out of business in 2007 and came over to the UFC, once again defeating Heath Herring in his debut at UFC 73 in July of that year. With Randy Couture attempting to retire and get out of his UFC contract in the fall of 2007, an interim title was installed and Nogueira defeated Tim Sylvia at UFC 81 in February of 2008 to become the interim champion and would lose the interim title to Frank Mir later that year (and that loss set up the rematch between Brock Lesnar and Mir for 2009, which to this day is the most purchased UFC card in history).

Nogueira’s last great moments came during fights in Brazil for the UFC with a come-from-behind victory over Brendan Schaub at UFC 134 in August of 2011 and later submitting Dave Herman at UFC 153 in October of 2012. Nogueira lost his final three fights to Fabricio Werdum, Roy Nelson and most recently to Stefan Struve at UFC 190 last month.

In retirement, Noguiera will take a positon with the UFC office in Brazil.

**Retired fighter Chris Leben has been sentenced to 120 days in jail, along with three years of additional probation. Leben pled guilty to charges made by his ex-wife, Kaleena Leben that Chris broke into her arm with a loaded weapon. Leben will begin his sentence on September 21st. Leben was one of the major stars to come out of the first season of The Ultimate Fighter in 2005 and would fight for the UFC for the next eight-years. Leben last fought in December of 2013, where he was defeated by Uriah Hall at UFC 168 and Leben retired.

**Below is Episode 1 of UFC Embedded, heading into UFC 191 this weekend:

**Scott Harris at Bleacher Report has an interesting look at the extreme effects of weight cutting in the sport with comments from a variety of fighters.

**Marc Raimondi at MMA Fighting reports on the unique rules for the four-man light heavyweight tournament that Bellator will be holding on September 19th at the Dynamite event. The promotion has announced Phil Davis vs. Emanuel Newton and Linton Vassell vs. Muhammad Lawal, along with a reserve bout between Francis Carmont and Philipe Lins. If one of the semi-final winners is injured, it will be the fighter he defeated and not the winner of the reserve fight, who will be placed into the finals in their place. If either semi-final ends in a draw, the judges will vote on who won the entirety of the fight. The other major note is that the semi-finals will be two-rounds fights as California will only allow a fighter to fight a maximum of five rounds in one night and the finals will be contested over three rounds.

**UFC strawweight Tecia Torres noted she was randomly drug tested, ahead of her fight with Michelle Waterson at UFC 194 on December 12th.

**World Series of Fighting has announced that Chael Sonnen will be a color analyst at their next show on September 18th in Phoenix, Arizona and airing on NBC Sports Network. Sonnen already serves as an analyst for ESPN and is providing color commentary for the Global Force Wrestling episodes they have taped over the summer in Las Vegas.

**Reebok has signed UFC lightweight Khabib Nurmagomedov to an exclusive deal.

**The UFC held a huge press conference today in Las Vegas to launch their “Go Big” campaign and promote all the major fights coming up from September 26th – December 19th. The following fights were promoted during the press conference, with the fighters on hand in Las Vegas:
*September 26th – Josh Barnett vs. Roy Nelson – Barnett was delayed because of his flight
*October 3rd – Daniel Cormier vs. Alexander Gustafsson for the light heavyweight title
*October 24th – Dustin Poirier vs. Joseph Duffy – White notes that tickets for the Dublin show sold out in 60 seconds today
*November 7th – Vitor Belfort vs. Dan Henderson
*November 15th – Ronda Rousey vs. Holly Holm for the bantamweight title; Joanna Jedrzejczyk vs. Valerie Letourneau for the strawweight title
*November 21st – Matt Brown vs. Kelvin Gastelum
*November 28th – Benson Henderson vs. Thiago Alves; Mirko Cro Cop vs. Anthony Hamilton (they were in South Korea promoting the card)
*December 11th – Frankie Edgar vs. Chad Mendes
*December 12th – Jose Aldo vs. Conor McGregor for the featherweight title; Chris Weidman vs. Luke Rockhold for the middleweight title (Weidman was not in attendance as his wife was about to give birth)
*December 19th – Rafael dos Anjos vs. Donald Cerrone for the lightweight title

**Dana White had nothing to say regarding Fedor Emelianenko.

**UFC 200 is official for Saturday July 9th next year and will take place at the new Las Vegas Arena, which opens next April.

**It was announced at the press conference that they will be holding three straight cards from December 10th – 12th in Las Vegas. The December 10th and 11th shows will be at the Cosmopolitan and then the UFC 194 card will be at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. No fights were officially announced for the December 10th card, which they are still putting together. Frankie Edgar vs. Chad Mendes is scheduled to headline the December 11th show.

**It is now official that Joanna Jedrzejczyk vs. Valerie Letourneau will be the co-feature of UFC 193 on November 15th in Melbourne, underneath the Ronda Rousey vs. Holly Holm bantamweight title fight. At first it was thought Letourneau wouldn’t be ready to fight by that date following her win over Maryna Moroz. They stated that Claudia Gadelha’s hand has not healed yet and couldn’t take the fight.

**The UFC 194 card continues to grow for December 12th with the addition of a featherweight fight between Max Holloway and Jeremy Stephens, as well as a welterweight fight between Gunnar Nelson and Demian Maia. The promotion has also added a bantamweight fight to that card with Urijah Faber meeting Frankie Saenz. Faber will be returning to bantamweight for this fight, following his loss to Frankie Edgar in his last fight at featherweight.

**The Robbie Lawler vs. Carlos Condit welterweight title fight has been moved to the headline position for the UFC 195 card on January 2nd in Las Vegas. Lawler suffered a thumb injury and took him off the UFC 193 card in November in Melbourne, Australia. As a result, Ronda Rousey vs. Holly Holm was moved up seven weeks from the January 2nd to headline in Melbourne at Etihad Stadium.

**The UFC 191 card was highlighted by an incredible one round fight between John Lineker and Francisco Rivera. This was every bit as exciting as Nick Diaz vs. Paul Daley from 2011 and the Andrei Arlovski vs. Travis Browne fight from earlier this year, although the latter two lasted longer and had more back-and-forth, but for sheer volume of strikes and the pace that the bantamweights had, it was incredible. This was Lineker’s first fight at bantamweight in the UFC (he had fought at 135 prior to the UFC) after missing weight on four occasions at flyweight and was definitely small at the weight but did have his power. This fight aired on the preliminary card and is well worth tracking down if you missed it. Below are the full results from the card, in front of 10,873 and a gate of $1,362,700:
*Joaquim Silva over Nazareno Malegarie by split decision (30-27, 28-29, 30-27)
*Joe Riggs over Ron Stallings by DQ (illegal upkick) at 2:28 of Round 2 – Riggs was already cut by his eye and when he took the upkick, he stated he couldn’t see and the fight was ruled a DQ
*Tiago Trator over Clay Collard by split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28)
*Raquel Pennington over Jessica Andrade by rear-naked choke at 4:58 of Round 2
*John Lineker over Francisco Rivera by guillotine at 2:08 of Round 1
*Ross Pearson over Paul Felder by split decision (30-27, 28-29, 29-28)
*Paige VanZant over Alex Chambers by armbar at 1:01 of Round 3
*Corey Anderson over Jan Blachowicz by unanimous decision (30-25, 30-25, 29-26)
*Anthony Johnson over Jimi Manuwa by KO at 0:28 of Round 2
*Andrei Arlovski over Frank Mir by unanimous decision (30-27, 29-28, 29-28)
*Demetrious Johnson over John Dodson by unanimous decision (50-45, 49-46, 49-46) to retain the flyweight title

**The Fight of the Night bonus obviously went to John Lineker and Francisco Rivera, with Anthony Johnson and Raquel Pennington taking the performance bonuses for $50,000 each.

Dana White stated they are working on something for Demetrious Johnson’s next title defence. Henry Cejudo is fighting Jussier Formiga in November and that is the only fight that could present the next title challenger, unless someone of note is willing to cut down from bantamweight and receives the next title fight, which isn’t a crazy idea at all.

The Arlovski vs. Mir fight was very flat as both were tired throughout the fight and referee John McCarthy constantly breaking them up from clinching against the cage. Dana White noted that the Fabricio Werdum vs. Cain Velasquez likely isn’t going to happen until March because Werdum doesn’t want to fight until then, so that means Arlovski will likely have to fight again and this wasn’t the type of win that is going to rally support for Arlovski.

**The UFC has a quiet month as there isn’t another card until September 26th when they return to Japan with the card at the Saitama Super Arena with Josh Barnett taking on Roy Nelson in the main event, along with Gegard Mousasi vs. Uriah Hall on that show. It is a similar schedule in October with UFC 192 on October 3rd and the Dublin card on October 24th.

**Beyonce and her team licensed the Ronda Rousey “Do Nothing Bitch” clip from the episode of Embedded prior to UFC 190 and used during Beyonce’s performance of “Diva” on Saturday night at the Budweiser Made in America festival. Dana White tweeted out a video of the clip being used at the start of the performance.

**The book was thrown at Nick Diaz today at the NAC hearing in Las Vegas, stemming from Diaz’s third failed drug test for marijuana. Diaz tested positive for marijuana metabolites following his loss to Anderson Silva at UFC 183 on January 31st of this year. Diaz’s levels were through the roof at over 300 ng/mL, more than double the allowable limit in Nevada of 150 ng/mL.

The result today was a five-year suspension handed down by the commission and a 33% fine of his UFC 183 purse, amounting to $165,000.

Diaz was subjected to three drug tests the night of the fight with Anderson Silva. The first was taken before the fight and the other two, after the fight. The first and third tests were clean, which were done under WADA protocol. The test in question is the second test, which was well above the allowable limit and administered separately and submitted to Quest Diagnostics, to a non-WADA accredited lab in New Jersey.

Diaz’s legal team immediately stated they would be appealing the decision and believe it was a personal vendetta set out by the commission. The NAC members were pretty clear that this was not as much an issue regarding marijuana, but the way in which Diaz disrespected the commission and showed no signs of remorse with this being a third defense.

The UFC fighter said he was advised by his legal representation not to speak when asked questions during the hearing. However, that was clearly not the case afterward.

“I’m pretty pissed off,” Diaz told MMAjunkie after the hearing. “First of all, this sport, this commission and everybody, they’ve done everything they can to keep me from being all the way on top where I should be. They’ve been doing everything they could to keep me from proving to the world that I’m the best fighter in the world, which I am.

“Those people are nothing but a bunch of crooks up there. The reason why I became a fighter, on top of a handful of reasons, was so that I don’t have to break the law. People around me in my community, people I know, they don’t have to break the law either. We even did a lot of good. They got me in here sweating bullets in a freaking court room with my lawyers because they all think I’m going to flip out and do something really nuts like I was about this close to doing. I just think that it’s bullshit. I’ll fight anybody in this whole sport. I’ll beat everybody that – I’ve already beat guys that are on the top right now. This is the sort of reason that people don’t understand that I’m the best fighter in the world. They don’t understand that.”

Diaz said he was eager to speak his mind during the commission but instead let his lawyers represent his side of the argument. He shared his thoughts on the NSAC’s commissioners afterwards, though, and they were hardly complimentary.

“I wanted to tell them what I think; I wanted to tell each and every one of that they’re a bunch of dorks,” Diaz said. “Anybody that sees them or knows who they are should tell them that to their face, because I would. I would tell them. I would tell them that if it wasn’t for my experts over here, they advised me to keep my mouth shut so I keep my mouth shut.

“I wanted to tell them all, ‘Look, you guys are way the f-ck out of line. You guys are trying to hold me down from Day 1.’ That’s pretty much this whole sport trying to keep me from where I belong, and that’s the No. 1 position. I’m the biggest draw; I’m the best fighter. I’ve been fighting for longer. I’ve been throwing more punches than anyone in the sport. I’m going to dodge more punches than anyone in the sport. That’s the bottom line and what’s really going on. We got a whole system trying to hold me down.”

**Jake Shields also had his hearing today in front of the Nevada Athletic Commission and was given 50-hours of community service as a punishment for striking Rousimar Palhares after their World Series of Fighting bout last month. Shields noted he was wrong and pleaded his case regarding the numerous eye gouges he received and Palhares holding onto the fight ending kimura for too long. The hearing for Palhares was delayed until next month.

**Here are the results from the Invicta FC card from last weekend in Kansas City, Missouri and airing on UFC Fight Pass:
*Felicia Spencer over Rachel Wiley by TKO at 3:32 of Round 1
*Aspen Ladd over Amanda Bobby Cooper by armbar at 4:42 of Round 2
*J.J. Aldrich over Rosa Acevedo by KO at 2:24 of Round 1
*Jinh Yu Frey over Liz McCarthy by unanimous decision (30-27, 29-28, 29-28)
*Sharon Jacobson over Jamie Moyle by unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28)
*Cindy Dandois over Megan Anderson by triangle choke at 2:41 of Round 2
*Andrea Lee over Rachael Ostovich by verbal submission from an armbar at 4:58 of Round 3
*Roxanne Modafferi over Mariana Morais by TKO at 4:40 of Round 3
*DeAnna Bennett over Katja Kankaanpaa by unanimous decision (29-28 all)
*Tonya Evinger over Pannie Kianzad by TKO at 3:34 of Round 2

Both Evinger and Kiazad had issues making weight with Evinger eventually making the bantamweight limit of 135 but Kianzad did not, and as a result it was a non-title fight.

**Invicta announced that their next event will take place in November, though no specific date was announced. The main announcement was that Cristiane “Cyborg” Justino will be fighting on that card at 140 pounds, as she prepares to make the full cut down to 135 pounds. The November show will also feature Livia Renata Souza defending the women’s strawweight title against Alexa Grasso.

**There is no UFC event this weekend but the big card is Bellator’s Dynamite show from San Jose at the SAP Center. The event will feature 20 fights, comprised of both MMA and kickboxing bouts. The undercard sounds nuts as they will have a cage and a ring set up in the arena with two fights going on at the same time on the undercard. Sean Grande and Jimmy Smith will be calling the MMA fights, while Mauro Ranallo and Stephen Quadros will be calling the GLORY fights throughout the show. The event is headlined by Liam McGeary defending the light heavyweight title against Tito Ortiz.

**The UFC has added a featherweight fight between rising prospect Mirsad Bektic and Tatsuya Kawajiri, as well as a flyweight fight between Justin Scoggins and Joby Sanchez for the TUF 22 Finale show on December 10th in Las Vegas.

Image
**MGM has announced that they are re-booting the classic film “Road House” and that Ronda Rousey will be starring in the main role as a bouncer, which is the role that was played by Patrick Swayze in the 1989 original. Filming is scheduled to begin in 2016 and next year is already looking to be a packed one for Rousey on the film front. She will begin filming the Peter Berg project, “Mile 22” next February along with the biopic that is based on her autobiography and a film called “The Athena Project” that she is also set to star in. It is not known if all four projects will be in production throughout 2016, but regardless it is a question if Rousey will be able to do UFC 200 next July and put a full fight camp together with so many commitments outside of the UFC being lined up.

**Fedor Emelianenko is indicating that an announcement will be forthcoming in the next 2-3 weeks.

**John Dodson has posted the following statement regarding those that believe Dodson lost the fight to Demetrious Johnson due to the timing of his girlfriend going into labor last week:

Everyone I lost the fight cuz I didn’t fight to my full potential. It’s something I have to live with for the rest of my life and y’all can bad mouth me all you want but do me a favor please keep my mom and my newborn daughter outta y’all mouth. They didn’t do anything to deserve your hatred. I do and I take responsibility for it. Thank you I appreciate your hate towards me losing. Have a nice day.
