Well that was a lighthearted reply to your jab about being an anti-Spenno. My point was clarified in that post to Orson. Doesn't mean that there aren't things that I really dislike, or even hate, and find zero value in. Like I've said before, there's nothing of value in Gummo. It's awful. AWFUL.
Then there's something like The Thin Red Line, which I dislike, but I can see, as a critic, that there is merit there. I just had a specific emotional response to the movie despite all that's accomplished and good about it. I don't like the movie and that's something I can't help.
I feel like I've spent a lot of words in this thread saying what you already know and understand.
