TV shows we (seriously) think LV should watch

Post by E.H. Ruddock »

We all know LV hates television. But there are some good shows out there. What do you think he should watch (with an open mind and that it isn't going to be cinema)? And also, more than one episode.

My suggestions:

Hannibal
Vikings
The Strain (I know you watched most of season 1, but season 2 has realized its' ridiculousness and embraced it. It is great.)
Humans
Longmire
The Bridge
Arrow (this one is iffy as far as LV is concerned)
Downton Abbey
The Americans

Vikings is really good. I watch Longmire and Arrow but I don't think they are for him.

He watches Z Nation, he really should give season 2 of The Strain a shot.

None.

Guy's not a tv fan. Let him have his cinema. I'd rather hear him talk about how much he loves shitty movies than here him shit all over great tv.

Really? I don't really think it is "better", but I think they realize the cheesiness of their own show and don't shy away from it.

I'd like to think he isn't so closed-minded that he would shun every single suggestion in this thread.

LV? He's not close-minded at all. I firmly believe he'll try at least a few of these out. I just don't know that he's going to actually like any of them. I think it's great that you're trying to get him into some of these shows, though. You're doing the Lord's work.

Me too, Ruddo.

Maybe try the shield? I don't know, I don't read a lot of A&E.

I :heartbeat: this thread.

I am very interested in Oz, Show Me a Hero, and The Wire, and, somewhat less so, in Homicide and The Shield.

I watched two or three eps of Hannibal and it wasn't working for me, so I'm hesitant to invest any more time.

There's no way I'm going back to The Strain, haha.

Very skeptical about Vikings and Longmire. Isn't Arrow a superhero show?

I'd give Downton Abbey and Black Mirror a shot.

I don't really know anything about Humans, The Bridge, or The Americans.

The clips I've seen of Mr. Robot looked insufferable, but perhaps context is needed.

I saw the first ep of American Horror Story and thought it was laughable garbage. I'd love to love this show and have been intrigued by the set-ups of other seasons, but man that was bad.

Black mirror is excellent, and the shield is much better than it looks - Chiklis is kinda the proto Walter white.

Given his newfound love for all things popular with the masses, I'm sure he'll find the following shows to be works of art:

Big Bang Theory
CSI: Cyber
CSI
CSI: Miami
CSI: Zimbabwe
CSI: Special Victims Unit
Two and a Half Men
Everybody Loves Raymond
