They should fire Rizzo too.The Argonaut wrote:Well, it's a very good article. It gets into the clubhouse in a way that little sports writing does. Unfortunately, most of sports writing is just 'watch the game, listen to the players say their canned snippets, and make a bunch of shit up.' This goes way beyond that, and is very well written. There seems to be no way the Nats can bring back Matt Williams or Papelbon next year.

Re: MLB
You could make that case. His moves were detrimental to the players' morale. But you could also make the case that he made the 25-man roster better without increasing salary, and that it was the manager's job to keep up morale. It seems to really be both. The players felt that neither the front office nor the coaching staff had their back or even had a plan.cutuphalfdead wrote:They should fire Rizzo too.The Argonaut wrote:Well, it's a very good article. The dude went to a ballgame in a dress shirt. Clearly he isn't a regular game-goer.

Yeah, the double-header made it a bit awkward, but that was fun.numbers wrote:Congrats on the Jays, Phil. Glad they clinched it on the field and not with the Yankees losing.
Jose Bautista played the bottom of the ninth with a GoPro in his back pocket so he could film the celebration.

Re: MLB
Apparently, when the Jays were looking to improve their bullpen at the deadline, the Phillies made an offer to send them Papelbon. The rumour (I don't think it's been confirmed) is that Anthopoulos, who's been putting a lot more stock in individual players' character the last couple years, talked to Roy Halladay, who told him to steer clear. The Argonaut wrote:You could make that case. Because Roy Halladay is the best.

I know! People keep saying stuff about how that chick is going to dump him. The guy is obviously loaded, not only was he sitting there, look at what he considers casual ballgame wear.cutuphalfdead wrote:With front row at Yankee Stadium money he's definitely getting laid.spike wrote:chances of that chick fucking that guy tonight: 0%. that should've been his tweet. The Argonaut wrote:It wasn't posted in the thread but chud tweeted about it already, so you probably should never have been born in the first place. what a waste. #chudisthebest #corden4evaspike wrote:have these been posed yet? ffs.

I'll give him a pass on the middle one, kind of a bad hop. But his problem in the first and third is that he tried to two-hand them. Just stick one hand out and catch it!

I was gonna say.. good chance he had a buzz
In his defense, none of those are easy catches without a glove.. just what are the odds you have 3 hit to you
