Yeah, I think this is likely - I've already seen some fan speculation/rumours that they'll be headlining Bonnaroo which also explains why the rest of the dates won't be announced until January when the festival line-up will be released.

Here's hoping there's a Portland (or nearby) date, I think the current line-up of the band sound fantastic.
The Cure will be playing 27 shows in 22 North America cities next Spring, their first major tour of the continent since 2008.
During the past 7 years the band has performed a number of 'Reflections' shows in LA and NYC, and headlined most of the major festivals, including Coachella, Lollapalooza, Bottlerock, Osheaga, two Austin City Limits, three Riots and a Voodoo...

That's the rumour I've seen doing the rounds, I hope it works out (and that there's a bunch of non-festival shows too, of course).
I had a bit of a tiff with the trouble 'n strife the other night and ended up going for a drive around Perth for about an hour and a half, by myself, generally pissed off. I had a Cure mixer playing and I gotta say it just fully hit the spot.
Really learned to love this band over the past few years. Hope they come to Perth.

I saw that. It isn't exactly Portland (it's the same place PJ played in 2009, about 30km from Portland) but I'll be going just the same.
