Maybe, but I'm sure you could find documentation that he meant "when a person has a baby, he and/or she should have the option to stay home with the baby."Green Habit wrote:I'll be curious to see if he gets ripped for this:

Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?

Also, even though he didn't put it eloquently, practically every doctor and every psychologist and everyone who studies this says that child-parent bonding is an essential public health issue (we just went through having a baby, and "bonding" was a huge buzzword). So yes, parents should stay home--not to enforce gender roles, but for legitimate health purposes.B wrote:Maybe, but I'm sure you could find documentation that he meant "when a person has a baby, he and/or she should have the option to stay home with the baby."Green Habit wrote:I'll be curious to see if he gets ripped for this:

And he's doing a good job of earning it. He did well tonight. He's not going to get it, though. Clinton also did very well, but I'm still not voting for her.

I'm sure you could, too, and I agree. I'll still be curious if some rip him for how he framed it.B wrote:Maybe, but I'm sure you could find documentation that he meant "when a person has a baby, he and/or she should have the option to stay home with the baby."Green Habit wrote:I'll be curious to see if he gets ripped for this:

Yeah, O'Malley sounded great (I was aware of most of his positions, but never heard him speak much before). Bernie and Clinton sounded exactly as I expected. Chafee looked like his batteries were in backwards. Webb eats the souls of Viet Cong and that scares me.

I like how Chris Cuomo was chasing Bernie around the stage immediately after the debate for an interview, but Bernie kept running away from him and looking for his people.

Big question: those people who got their picture taken with Chafee after the debate...who did they think Chafee actually was?

I don't know, but I'm pretty sure I'm going to have nightmares about him tonight. He's all the evidence I need to re-confirm my belief that Rhode Island should just become part of Massachusetts.

Re: Election 2016
Chafee comes from one of the most corrupt states in the country, but his squeaky-clean image doesn't have anything to do with him fighting for truth and justice. A recent document dump from one of the most recent scandals--the 38-Studios debacle--suggests that he was kept out of the loop on backroom wheelings and dealings because everyone was afraid he wouldn't understand things. Chafee wasn't clever enough to be crooked.

So there are no good candidates in either party this election. Great.
