I just watched the documentary Call Me Lucky. It was absolutely riveting.

Both Barry Crimmins and Bobcat Goldthwait made the podcast rounds when this was coming out, and they made it sounds excellent.

Whenever there's active promotion on the part of somebody else, whenever I see somebody all dolled up for a fancy photograph and someone's handing out flyers or whenever there's active promotion for something like that, as an imposition on my day, I hate all those people and I want them to fail. I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

Well I can't recommend The Butcher Boy highly enough. You should absolutely check that one out. Even if you don't totally flip out over it and love it as much as I do, you'll still really appreciate it and enjoy the thing, I think.

The End of the Affair is also gorgeous. A damn near perfect film. So sexy and haunting and heartbreaking and tense. And another round of stellar performances in that one.

Interview with a Vampire, Michael Collins and Breakfast on Pluto are really solid as well.

In Dreams is worth a watch, too. And High Spirits.

Interview is probably my least favorite of his films that I've seen (maybe Breakfast on Pluto is below it...?) and I still enjoy the hell out of it. It's been a long time since I've seen it, though. My memory might be stronger than the film itself. But I think the piece has a great atmosphere and tone. And Tom Cruise is outstanding.
