Knowing the seasons are only five episodes might push me to actually give this a shot.

Technically, S2 is 6 episodes.

It's a great show, Verm. Give it a shot. It's a slow burn but it's taught. And Gillian is great. And it explores some really dark corners and important issues without being too obvious about it all. This isn't a show that beats you over the head. There might not even be a single line of dialogue in the first 15 minutes of the pilot.

Actually, what you were talking about in Macbeth thread a while back is on stellar display here. There's A TON of actors just thinking and the creator letting you watch them think without telling you what's in their head.

Some of the more violent scenes were really hard for me to watch, too. You probably won't have that problem, but some of the images stuck with me and made it hard to sleep.

I really hope you like it. I was blown away. While I don't expect you to have the exact same experience, I think you'll find a lot to latch onto in it.

Give it the first two episodes, though. It snagged me from the go, but if it doesn't grab you like that, give it two full episodes.

Like DcT said, its exceptionally violent and graphic in some scenes. Its hung in my mind hours after watching too.

Yeah, it's pretty good. Rob Lowe is pretty much doing a slightly toned down version of his character from Parks & Rec, which is a good thing.

More surprisingly, the show before it, Grandfathered, isn't horrible.

Stupid question; is there any site on the interwebz that deals with cancelled tv shows, specifically what the plans were from the writers had the show moved forward? There are some shows that really left me hanging, and the Terra Nova talk in that other thread got me thinking about this.

I know I could utilize Google, but just thought I'd ask in case anyone knew of anything...

I've never found a site like this, but I'd LOVE to take a look at one if it exists.

Yeah, I tried googling but come up with just random tv news sites. I did just google "Season 2 plans for Terra Nova" and got an interview with one of the writers where he detailed what they would do next. That was cool, but now I need to find the same for the following shows:

Flash Forward
The River
The Unit

Fortunately the writers of "Revolution" put out a 3 part graphic novel to explain how that ended.

Man, I watch some bad TV.

That doesn't work and isn't even remotely funny when in my post I mentioned googling it. Better luck next time, strat.

Flash Forward was based on a book. So you could probably get that and see where they may have been heading?

Of course, I have no idea how similar the show and the book ever were. But I remember wanted to read the book. I should find a copy.
