Corey Crawford, Ray Emery, Jonathon Bernier, Brian Elliott. I'd also take a look at Carey Price, Luongo and a couple others before I got to Reimer. I'd want to see him play a year and preferably two at the World Cup level before any consideration for Team Canada at the olympics.
Price and Luongo probably both make the team ahead of him, and I have no problem with that because they have at least a few years of being among the best goalies in the league, but neither was anywhere near as good as Reimer this year. The others are all kind of complicated, but I agree at least on Crawford. Bernier has played 30 games combined the last two seasons and Elliott faces 8 shots a night, so it's kind of tough to say how good they really are.

I'm not saying Reimer should or will make it, but I don't think it's as ridiculous a concept as it may seem at first. Crawford is actually the only Canadian goalie who had a better Save % this year. Reimer definitely needs work on his rebound control, but if he can improve it I think he can be one of the top goalies in the league.

It was so frustrating watching all those rebounds and not being in position to put them in the net.

It such a shame too because Reimer stole 2-3 games and gave them a chance in all but one of them. It's also hard to blame Reimer for one bad period (obviously it came at the absolute worst possible time) when the Leafs barely touched the puck or cleared the crease at any point in the last ten minutes of the game.

I am 100% confident in Reimer going forward as the Leafs starting goalie. What I don't understand is how so many people think the Leafs need Luongo to take over for Reimer after this one poor performance (despite what happened the rest of the series), yet everyone in Vancouver is happy to trade Luongo and go with Schneider despite how horrendous he was in his two games for Vancouver in the playoffs. Reimer is one of the youngest starting goalies in the NHL. There's absolutely no reason to think ten minutes of bad hockey will define his career or that he can't continue to improve. I'm sure Luongo was at least half joking with his #Reims4Sochi tweet, but which Canadian goalies were better than Reimer this year?
Phil, if Reimer gave up that many rebounds to any team other than Boston (or NYR), he'd have lost every game by truly Luongo-esque scores...

Also, if Gillis and AV go, I can very much see the new GM meeting with Luongo in an effort to keep him, and then trading Schneider, just because Schneider will bring back much better value

But Vancouver's problems go well beyond their 2 goalies...

it'll be interesting to see how this loss affects him going forward...and you might not know for sure until a year from now when he gets to play another playoff game

It's easy to just say something like that, but he played roughly 30 games this year against non-Boston opponents and put up a .924 SV%, so it seems like a pretty ridiculous statement.

Did he have that much trouble with rebounds all year?

Yeah, that was pretty standard for him. He gets away with a lot of it because he's always in a good position to make the next save and he got a lot of help from the defense in keeping players away from those loose pucks. Improved rebound control could make him a top tier goalie in the league, as far as I'm concerned. Obviously that's easier said than done, though.

It's weird, he's a really good goalie except for rebounds, but his rebounds are like high school level style rebounds.

i liked the play of Hamilton, Bartkowski, and Krug. they added a presence to offensive-zone rotations and a quickness in transition that hasn't been there most nights.

Krug had a few miscues defensively that could have been costly but the Rangers didnt capitalize. I thought Bartkowski was superb last night, I'd even go so far to say that he should play over Redden.

Still the best player on earth. Hands down.
His goals all seemed effortless last night, but in actual fact there was so much attention to detail on each one. He just sees things unfold that most players don't.

From ESPN Boston site...this is why I remain very nervous, yet optimistic. If it's possible to feel those two emotions at the same time:

Boston leads the series 3-0 and can advance to the conference finals as early as Thursday at Madison Square Garden. Only three NHL teams have rallied from an 0-3 hole to advance.

However, the Philadelphia Flyers did it to the Bruins in 2010 in this round.

"We can talk about it all we want, but that's in the past," Bruins coach Claude Julien said. "We had to live with that and we still have to live with that."

Boston also nearly blew a 3-1 series edge in the opening round this year against Toronto, before rallying from a three-goal deficit in the third period and capturing Game 7 in overtime.

"The Toronto series, I didn't think our team was in the zone the way it is right now," Julien said. "I anticipate -- knowing my team -- that we're going to come out the same next game and certainly not be the Jekyll and Hyde team that we were in the first round."

i think having the last change significantly helped the rangers last night. it was a huge equalizer, to these eyes.

not that i blame the officials for anything b/c plenty more could have been called both ways, but the non-call of that 4-minute high stick on cap'n ryan, really could have altered that game in a huge way.

last-things-last, rest & days-off to heal could be incredible for this team, i really hope they can close it out tomorrow.

I can't even describe how happy I am right now that Alain Vigneault is no longer the coach of the Vancouver Canucks...
