I agree with the last few posts. It's the perfect parody of the early 90s Ed character.

Re: Biggest Finger to the Music Industry...
I always thought it was just weird. Of all the things to say even if it was ' an attempt to sound cool' or whatever why mention your dad, and remind us he's dead btw.
I guess cause he knew people would ask why he even turned up?
Whatever, 80% of anything ed says is rambling, borderline incoherent and full of non-sequiturs, this was no different

Some guitarists are legendary for their huge hands. Jimi Hendrix and Tal Farlow had tree trunks for fingers. Stevie Ray Vaughan had Popeye forearms, and each finger was about the size of two of mine taped together. My hands are probably larger than average, but not enormous. I shook Steve Vai‘s hand once, and his fingers wrapped all the way around my hand like a blanket. It was an uncomfortable moment.

Lifeson wasn't giving the finger to the HOF or trying to be disrespectful, he's just a complete goofball, both onstage and at award shows.

The difference in the expressions on Ed and Stone's faces is priceless.

I agree. I actually have no recollection of creating this thread. Hmm. Alcohol is bad kids.McParadigm wrote:I like that this thread was inspired by a "blahblah" speech at an organization that has Ed on speed dial.

Re: Biggest Finger to the Music Industry...
meh, i thought it went on for way too long and, while the premisce was funny enough, it made him look ridiculously full of himself in the end, which is some kind of plague of the prog musicians.warehouse wrote:finally saw lifeson's speech. i thought it was awesome and hysterical.
