This draft looks pretty crazy. I like it, and it kinda makes me sad more from it was not incorporated into ROTJ. There are some pretty cool aspects to it. The Han rescue mission is different, especially the conclusion, and the Luke / Vader / Palpatine thing is way different. The addition of a story line with a Grand Moff and the Emperor plotting against Vader is really interesting.

What does Colbert think will happen? So it was a good idea to make them sexless and loveless monks? They can't hold attachments to their loved ones? They can't have kids? This is some weird stuff introduced in AOTC, and it was a terrible idea.

I'm fine with that. Perhaps those sorts of attachments make it harder to use the force, but more likely you can have your galaxy's judges and peacekeepers in a position where personal and familial loyalties might make it harder to do the right thing

Eh, I didn't like it. I'm not a fan of the EU (meaning I never really read it), but I think there were Jedi and such with families / wives / husbands. I know it's not cannon, but it was definitely out there in various writings. It was a thing Lucas added to AOTC, and I don't think it was needed. Also, as mentioned, I don't like the "love" angle of Anakin's turn, so I just don't think the "no love" stuff really should have been a thing.

The weirdest part isn't that Jedis aren't allowed to love people, it's that Portman's character said that she couldn't love anyone because she was a senator.
