But the extra 20 minutes will really improve it.
the only way that makes anything in the movie better is if they cut things out. I figuratively claw my eyes out at Legolas jumping up falling blocks and want that fucker to fall every damn step.
I was about to a gif of this earlier...

Dime hates Grail?

Man, if you also try to tell me bad things about Father Ted, you are getting kicked right the fuck out of this caravan.

Finally getting to this. Had to stop at the part where Thorin joins the fight. Will finish it tomorrow. The Laketown parts were terrible, terrible stuff. I don't get the point of the bad guy (Alfred?). So many nice little bits are left out...so many dumb parts added. Bilbo a bit player. I did like the Council stuff vs Sauron. Saurman was a badass.

Finished it today. I can't help but think if I was involved in the making of this movie everyone would find me obnoxious cause I would disagree with every decision Peter Jackson wanted to make. Watching the movie did make me want to read all the books again. I kinda want to play Shadow Of Mordor now too so it was worth a watch just for rekindling my interest in all things Middle Earth.

Watched the extended edition of BOFA the other day.

Spoilers ahead.
Spoiler: show
The extra 20 minutes didn't really add anything except we see Gandalf getting an even harder Time as prisoner a dol guldur, up to his hand being about to be chopped off(he has one of the three elven rings) and that's when galadriel turns up to save him. The fight with the nazgul is a bit longer.

And We see thorins funeral & dain hailed as King.

Neither of these things takes up much time the rest of the 20 mins extra just seems to be all added to the battle really. Including seeing Beorn kick some ass.

Don't know what I was expecting but more than this I guess

I assure you that rereading the book will give you a greater appreciation for why Jackson did the stuff he did, even if it didn't always land

I could probably recite the book from memory to you. I can't think of any additions in the movies that added anything.

Here's some info on it. Looks interesting. I hope he cut all the Alfred scenes.
