Looking for some basic answers re: PS4. I haven't owned a system since the original PS1, and I gather much has changed since 2001. Looking to purchase a PS4 around the holidays, hoping you guys can help me out:

Is 500gb enough for 3-5 games? I'm mostly excited for Star Wars: Battlefront, The Division, Uncharted 4, Metal Gear, and that Rocket League game looks fun too. If 500gb is too small, is it easy to upgrade to a larger drive?

What sort of connection speed do I need to play online? I believe we're at 6mb/s. Does it matter if I'm connected directly to the modem, or is WiFi ok? If I need to be connected via hardline, is there any way to cast from the PS4 to my TV wirelessly?

I'm not sure how game servers work these days, but I'd like to play with some friends in MA. Will that be easy to do from MT?

How quickly do the controller batteries lose their charge?

Are those standing fan units really helpful with heat and noise, or are they a waste of money?

Playstation Plus is the membership/subscription service that enables you play games online on the Playstation Network. Think about it as the Playstation Network is the internet and Playstation Plus is the internet provider. In this case though your internet provider gives you two free games each month.

Not really double dipping. Playstation Network doesn't cost anything. It's just their network infrastructure and your account info. If you don't intend to play games online then it's all you need. You can connect to the store, download games/updates/demos/movies/etc. PS Plus is the subscription service that lets you play online peer to peer, get a couple free games per month, and get discounts on other games and movies.

I find it hard to imagine that I'll ever sink as much time into a game again that I did with games like Skyrim, Fallout 3, and so on. I haven't booted up a game on my PS3 once since my daughter was born 2 months ago.
