I read a rumor/leak/speculation-fueled plot synopsis last week, and this trailer seems to confirm a couple of things:
Spoiler: show
-Rey being connected to the Skywalker family somehow; the overtones in this trailer are just too strong. The prevalent theory now, though, is that she's Luke's daughter, not Han+Leia's.
-Rey gets captured by Ren in the film's second act--basically confirmed by this trailer. Possible that rescuing her is more important/as important as destroyer Starkiller base.
-Chewie makes it to act 2.5/3! Many people suggested he wouldn't make it to the "flag castle," since he wasn't with Han/Rey/Finn in that last trailer--you can barely seem him in that shot with Poe/Leia/3PO, so he makes it at least that far.
My guess at a few things, considering recent leaks and reading other people's theories:
Spoiler: show
-Rey is Luke Skywalker's daughter and was deposited on Jakku just like Luke was deposited on Tatooine--to keep her secret and safe. Instead of Luke being the "Obi-Wan figure" of this film, Han is--he lives on Jakku and makes sure that Rey is safe, and maybe even they have a friendly relationship (like he's a mechanic in town or something). When Ren's people come to Jakku to recover Annikan's lightsaber, Han realizes, "Oh, fuck," and speeds away with Rey and her new friend Finn. When the good guys go to rescue Rey in the third act, Han sacrifices himself to save everyone else--completing his Obi-Wan-ish arc.
-Ren is Han/Leia's son--many people are guessing at this plot point, and I think it's nearly a foregone conclusion (and explains why Han would leave Leia to protect Rey--he feels like the biggest danger to the galaxy is his fault). He probably kills Han in the last act.
-The entire trilogy is about Ren's redemption, just as the OT was about Vader's.
-Luke is more Yoda-ish.
-I still think Boba Fett is in this movie and that they're trying to hide that biggest bit of fan service at all costs.

It looks better and better the more we see. Effects are all there and the flow and tone of the action as in the originals. It's all down to the story now and new characters/ actors. They better bring it

If you don't like or at least relate to a new character in an established universe and especially such an iconic one it's fucked. It'll live or die on the characters
