Watched a Lovecraftian horror movie (with sci-fi undercurrents) on Netflix last night called Banshee Chapter and it scared the ever-loving shit out of me. That's very rare. Apparently Christopher Nolan was originally going to direct it. Would have been VERY different in his hands.

I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

On Halloween, we watched 'Night of the Living Dead'. I had actually never seen it, so was excited to finally watch. It did not disappoint. I LOVED it. The music, the simplicity, the "non-over-the-topness", the creepiness, and the sadness all played together beautifully.

Hellraiser is one of the best from the eighties. Sequels are really bad though..

The cenobites tell everyone who'll listen that they're take them beyond the limits of pain and pleasure, etc, etc. Which the movie translates to "basically, we're going to rip off your skin and chop you up. Maybe twice!" They say "we have such sights to show you." Sights included in the movie: numerous slimy things, a monster running down a hall.
