Also, it's been looking like a remake for a while. Post from three weeks ago:

Start with a miserable kid on a shitty desert planet.
After a space battle something falls from the sky that contains a character of some sort.
Journey/learning sequence where the kid discovers that they have a familial connection to something bigger and more significant.
A bad guy wearing black shows up.
Someone important to the kid dies at a pivotal moment.
Then they all nut up blow up a planet.

Yeah...it does have the potential to be a pretty literal mirror.

Other than the new scenes, I think this was a more heavy handed introduction to the movie and universe. I liked the previous trailer more.

Seriously, the emotion in that trailer... Just holding on that opening shot... and the shot of the Tie fighters flying in. You really do feel it. Amazing.

I still liked it. I just don't think it is the huge bump up in feels that everyone else seems to. I liked the pace of the trailer, and that it was more centered on Rey, but some of the dialogue came out a little clumsy.

I'd be happy with visuals and a score and emotion and Star Wars and leave the dialogue and story for when my ass in the theatre seat.

The most intriguing shot in that trailer is Leia. She's obviously on the bridge of some vessel but why the big look of concern? Is Rey the lost daughter they've found? Is it the moment she realises that the other guys have her?

And is that why they go looking for Luke?
