some cynical people in this thread as usual we should be applauding this guy for trying to do this, not hating...THIS is what the jamily is about, pulling together as a community and making stuff happen...

it's more fun to make fun... than your 'jamily' alternative. It's not like they don't pull off moneygrab tours through your neck of the woods every year or three. If they had stopped touring, then I could see putting together a grassroots effort to have them play somewhere. These days PJ has oversaturated our brains with sub-par albums, half-assed tours where they play drunken unrehearsed versions of every song in their catalog, so many live boots and merch and merch and merch (dog collars, playing cards, date-specific stickers, posters, etc...)... What exactly do you want to make happen that hasn't already happened?!

Wishlist has been around for, like years and years, right? And haven't they legitimately done a lot of significant fundraising for legitimate causes?

What kind of dickbag finds out that an organization like that had been planning to do the same thing and not only doesn't quietly back down, but actively fights them? I would imagine a Wishlist crowdfunded show would end up being in large part to further the support for the charitable causes they've worked for years to support. And this guy wants to crowdfund one cause (essentially) it'd be cool?

We will continue to crowdfund until we receive a hard no from the Pearl Jam management. Dreams do come true and we are doing this for the thousands of fans that have supported us, visited our website, and have done charity work all for this movement. Pearl Jam are our heroes and we hope they can hear our proposal and give us more detailed feedback. We want this concert in Pearl Jam's hands and by no means would want otherwise. We know they put on a show like no other. We are simply a grassroots movement that knows Pearl Jam Forest Hills would be amazing for the fans, the band, and the community. We remain faithful, as the song goes. We are the Forest Hills Faithful!
