Im so gay for Star Wars
There's definitely a level of appreciation that comes with being a Trek fan already when you watch JJ's movie. But you don't need to be. That's what was so brilliant about it. It's the perfect "reboot." It's ready built for a new audience.
It's even easier to appreciate if you love Michael Bay movies, get aroused by shouted exposition, and think the things you love are improved by being less unique and more exactly like everything else around them.
Star Trek was as broken as Star Wars. He made it faster, funnier, and louder, but also (and this takes effort) dumber than ever. He made it Generic Space Shooter: the Movie.
Whatever else happens, I do believe he will serve Star Wars way better than Trek.

a thousand years ago, medieval burt would've said the same thing about talking to people all over the world via an intricate network of wires and tubes.
Why would you even bother with spaceships? They are pointless. Just teleport around. If some slightly smarter dude FROM THE PAST could quickly invent a means to teleport wherever the fuck he wants, I would think someone else could figure it out.
Calling Scotty at the club from another solar system was kinda moronic as well.
He just made everything seem so small. To boldly go... just around the corner really.

And, yeah, I do think JJ will serve Wars better than Trek. And given what a fantastic job he did with Trek, you can see why having trouble holding back my expectations and excitement for Wars.

You had me with your first sentence. But then goddammit

Don't you think it's funny that McP insists Trek is just a Michael Bay movie for Michael Bay fans, and yet you're the only Michael Bay fan that I know and you goddamn hate Trek?
Seems pretty lazy and ignorant on McP's part to try and throw out "Michael Bay" as some sort of reactionary catch-all insult.
But I've always thought, since long before his detour into Trek that Abrams would suit Wars well. I hoped if they really ever made and Episode VII that he would be the guy to do it. That hardly ever happens that I get a wish come true like that.

Find this and wish for a Binaural or Riot Act type PJ for the next album
