Never listened to "McCartney II" -- the original is great though!

I like post-Beatles Macca a lot. "Monkberry Moon Delight" just rocks my world.

Older Beatles fans really really hate "McCartney II", and they are cocky and arrogant about it too, as if nobody in their right mind could possibly ever like it. It's the Yoko Ono of McCartney albums.

AVC: Are there any songs of yours that you think deserved to be bigger than they were?

PM: There's quite a few, actually. I like… There's one called "Daytime Nighttime Suffering," which I think's really cool. One called "Waterfalls," I think is nice. In fact, somebody had a hit, a few years ago, using the first line, "Don't go jumping waterfalls / Please stick to the lake…" And then they go off into another song. It's like, "Excuse me?"

You guys are way more savvy than I. Seriously. My mind is still totally fucking blown from hearing the two tracks in the OP.

What a beautiful gift, Spenno. Thank you.

Now I have to listen to the whole record.

Go do it already!

McCartney II is at worst peculiar and at best fucking killer. Even the instrumentals jam hard.

Best Beatles solo career by far.

As I've said before, "McCartney II" is a masterpiece.

Although, anything that makes Beatletards go into convulsions is A-OK in my book.

Did you like it Durds?

The songs are super different, hardly a ripoff

Did I like "McCartney II"?

To my shame I have to confess that I've never heard it.

But I think "McCartney" and "Ram" are legit masterpieces. "Ram" is probably my favorite post-Beatles record by any of the former members. Really, the only McCartney stuff that I'm not totally crazy about is Wings. Some great individual songs and "Band on the Run" is another legit masterpiece. But otherwise, there's a lot lacking for me in that period.

I should give "McCartney II" a go.
