Re: Tame Impala
saw these guys last night in dc's 9:30 club. as usual, great full sound in that place.
the band is a 5 piece. I think the drummer from the last tour is playing keys on this tour. there was the singer/guitarist, a 2nd guitar/keys player, and new (to me) bass and drummer. The drummer was good. The band played really well together and the songs, in general, were better live than on record. Some extended jams on some songs. Overall, my expectations were more than met.

On several occasions I've used the Shazam app to determine the name of a band whose sound I like while out and about. The app has turned up Tame Impala seven times in the last month. In different business establishments and even different cities. I guess I'm really drawn to that sound.

Re: Tame Impala
yeah it's solid. has sort of a demo feel to it. from my understanding, it's a compilation of some home recordingsdiesel wrote:has anyone heard their first album? might be an EP. the one before innerspeaker?

Guys, I'm two-stepping into the past and putting "Lonerism" as my top album of 2012.

Re: Tame Impala
I kinda hated this band the first couple of times I listened. Then I thought, "They're OK". Now I fucking love them.
I prefer Lonerism to Innerspeaker.
