Fuck
They have gone in according to eye-witness reports;
“It was carnage,” said Marc Coupris, 57, still shaking after being freed from the hostage-taking at the Bataclan concert venue. “It looked like a battlefield, there was blood everywhere, there were bodies everywhere. I was at the far side of the hall when shooting began. There seemed to be at least two gunmen. They shot from the balcony. Everyone scrabbled to the ground. I was on the ground with a man on top of me and another one beside me up against a wall. We just stayed still like that. At first we kept quiet. I don’t know how long we stayed like that, it seemed like an eternity. I saw my last final unfurl before me, I thought this was the end. I thought I’m finished, I’m finished. I was terrified. We must all have thought the same. Eventually, when a few gendarmes came in slowly we began to look up and there was blood absolutely everywhere. The police told us to run.”

It's very irresponsible. I may never switch to CNN again during a major news story.

This is what happens to journalism in America when people decide they don't need newspapers. Enjoy, fuckers!

Did anybody see that French lady on MSNBC? She was so stereotypical it was hilarious, with her thick accent and droopy face and hair pulled back in a bun. She's like a character from Austin Powers or SNL, but real. I couldn't focus on anything she was saying.

One time they tried to speculate that the concert hall attack could have been because the band playing is American.

I pointed this out on twitter and took a little shit for it.. but during events like this, it seems like the Fox News Coverage tends to be the most focused on known facts, and statements. A lot less speculation than CNN and to a lesser extent, MSNBC.

That was not the case in the past. It seemed to change with the Boston bombings. But it was never this bad before.@SkitchP wrote:I pointed this out on twitter and took a little shit for it.. but during events like this, it seems like the Fox News Coverage tends to be the most focused on known facts, and statements. "This is clearly ISIS trying to expand it's reach into Europe."
"They were trying to send a message about denying refugees."
Ugh.

I think I am mainly focusing on Katrina, which I watched a ton of coverage on because my wife's family lives there. And it could just be because Shepard Smith is from MS, so he had a more personal interest in the effect on the people than political spin.

and to be clear, I just mean during the event itself, not once the analysts get involved.turned2black wrote:That was not the case in the past. It seemed to change with the Boston bombings. Where Fox and MSNBC are obviously partisan, CNN resorts to sensationalism and rumor mongering far more. They don't seem very competent at it either.
