Having kids that anchor you at home on most weeknights, DVRs to skip commercials, and most of these are short season (10-12 episode) series.

Exactly. Most of my shows are half hours I record and zip through in just over 20 minutes. For hour long dramas that require more attention tend to sit in DVR jail for a little while longer, that's the main reason I watch fewer of them.
Tuesday's turned into a pretty good tv night; Raising Hope/New Girl/Happy Endings. Watch them all in them all in the 10 o'clock hour and go to bed.

I don't have DVR so I pretty much just use netflix streaming. I have to wait for new seasons to be added there, so I never really have multiple shows going on at one time. I need some new dramas to try. Breaking Bad is the only one i've watched of late.

this mostly. and not all of these shows air at the same time. i'm in a lull right since none of my favorites are currently airing, but even during a busy period it's really only 3 or 4 shows a week. my wife and i usually save up a weeks worth of shows for an evening or a weekend afternoon we don't have anything going on.

I have no life. I also don't watch anything that isn't a live sporting event or on the DVR.

I fully expected you to ask me what American Pickers is. But yeah they can be. I generally only catch American Pickers when I go visit my parents, but I enjoy it. Shipping Wars would be better if not for the dumb commentary by the driverz.
