First ep of Jessica Jones was pretty good. I'll stick around.

Yep. It's almost great. Joan's whining gets me very annoyed and the mic'ing of JLM is suspect. He whisperes so much of the time.E.H. Ruddock wrote:Does anyone watch Elementary? Johnny Lee Miller is fantastic
Only a few eps into season 2 from memory. Need to get back on it.

Re: What are you currently watching on TV?
Watched the first episode of Jessica Jones, and liked it.
Watched an hour long documentary on Netflix about Star Trek: The Next Generation and the behind the scenes issues about getting that show through the first 3 seasons. It was written and directed and hosted by Shatner; called Chaos on the Bridge. It was fun. Cheesy as all fuck, but fun.
Then I watched Star Trek: The Next Generation. I'm going to do a series rewatch over the next year or so. I'm on episode 5 of season 1.

Thanks for mentioning this; I just watched it and really enjoyed it. I'm a sucker for ST docs - I think I've seen them all. Listening to people talk about Roddenberry's utopian vision of the future always makes me cry.durdencommatyler wrote:Watched the first episode of Jessica Jones, and liked it.

Watched a few of "Master of None" episodes. It was ok. Has it moments. Not sure I really care one way or the other if I finish it or not.

Steve Albini wrote:Whenever there's active promotion on the part of somebody else, whenever I see somebody all dolled up for a fancy photograph and someone's handing out flyers or whenever there's active promotion for something like that, as an imposition on my day, I hate all those people and I want them to fail. I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

Season One was very good and I completely agree about the show generating more empathy.tragabigzanda wrote:Just wanted to give a bump for Transparent, as the S2 premier goes up on Amazon tonight.
For those who haven't watched it: I think it's one of the finest shows ever made. It's made me a more empathetic person towards transgender people, and it's done so without even an ounce of self-righteousness. Jeffrey Tambour's portrayal of Maura is heartbreaking, and his self-absorbed kids do a great job of reflecting what a good person Maura actually is. And the writing is just superb: great moments of humor break up the heaviness of it all just perfectly. It's rare that I can say "I've not seen this show before."
