Re: New James Bond film: Spectre
Okay, so, yeah. I really liked this. The only Craig Bond film I've enjoyed.
I said before I was shocked at how huge the budget was. Well, it's all on screen. I can't remember the last time I saw a blockbuster so light on CGI. Cars, planes, helicopters - all practical and shot on location. Tons of fun, and Craig FINALLY works in the role, which, honestly, may have a little something to do with his disinterest in the part at this point. He feels casual. Less uptight, less serious. I thought this was the first entry that felt genuinely Bond since Die Another Day (which, don't get me wrong, was terrible, but at least it still felt like a true Bond movie).
A great way to send Craig off, and it makes me wish his prior films were this good. I left with a smile on my face.
Also, Dave Bautista is awesome.

Well now I'm looking at seeing this. I hated Craig in the previous ones. Shit, LV. Now my hopes are up.

The helicopter scene at the beginning was fantastic. Also the dialog when Bond was getting drilled.LoathedVermin72 wrote:Yeah, I'm only liking this more and more as time goes on.E.H. That helicopter scene was pretty staggering because it was also so clearly real. I don't know how they pulled it off.E.H. Ruddock wrote:The helicopter scene at the beginning was fantastic. The plane scene was also awesome. Man I love snowy mountain Bond stuff.

It was a great Bond movie for the first half, then settled into a pretty mediocre Bond movie. Nevertheless, Craig is a great Bond and I really hope that's not his last one.

Honestly I thought this was the least of all the Craig Bond films.....

Change mediocre to 'terrible,' and you've got Skyfall. Does not give me hope.EJ wrote:It was a great Bond movie for the first half, then settled into a pretty mediocre Bond movie

Without solid second-half pay off, I have no interest in watching 45-60 minutes of good Bond movie.LoathedVermin72 wrote:Except for the part about the great first half.McParadigm wrote:Change mediocre to 'terrible,' and you've got Skyfall.
