You sound like my co workers. I can only assume you really like Rod Stewart then.
What is the harm in that? You do realize he was in The Faces, right?
It was more of a reference to the type of music my offending co workers prefer.

I also don't have any time for Tom Waits.

And you all know how I feel about Bruce Springsteen.
Yeah Bruce sucks
I'm not a huge fan of either, but both have songs I really, really love. I'm a big fan of the 'Born In The USA' and "Highway 61 Revisited' albums.

Yeah, after The Faces, things really went downhill fast.

That is not an unpopular music opinion, KD.

I like where the show is going mostly because of the source material. There's some good performances mixed in with all of the bad. Rick and Darryl and Maggie and to a lesser degree Glen are all mainly insufferable, but Morgan, Carol, Abraham, Sasha, and to a lesser degree Michonne have been good. Carl had been up and down but mostly down.
Spoiler: show
Having said that, it appears all of the characters I enjoy are the most likely to bite it very soon

I cannot stand Tom Waits. Everything about him annoys me and grates on me to an almost unbelievable degree.

But I accept that it's like roquefort cheese - either you love it, or it's horrifying to you. I got nothing but respect for people who love Tom Waits - but I am not one of those people.

I can definitely see how Tom Waits annoying. He's very polarizing. I dig him bc I look at him as a character... like some sort of vaudeville/circus performer. And that's it. Not some guy trying to be profound. Through that lens, I find him extremely entertaining and interesting.

I love him, but to be fair, Tom Waits's voice is literally grating.

Yeah me too. It's a little weird when people take him so seriously

Very little of Waits's material seems to come from his personal life, so in that sense I agree with the idea of him being a "character" of sorts, but would reject the idea that this prevents his material from being profound or articulating its own kind of wisdom. It is both highly entertaning on a theatrical level, but also deeply poignant on a personal one.

He is one of the most moving performers I've ever heard (in the studio), even though everything is a story. But then again I will also cry reading a sad book or watching a sad film.

I totally get not liking TW, but he's just an absurdly good song writer and performer.

This is one of the saddest songs I've ever heard
