I think the album sequencing is perfect.

I'm digging a lot of classic rock vibe on some of these songs with a QOTS twist, some stuff kept reminding me of early Stones or Heart. On the other hand, some other stuff is just fresh and exciting for me.

Just caught up with the last 15 or so pages after grabbing the flac... yeah this is fucking great. Can't wait to get the vinyl and see them live.

I don't like to give stars until an album has time to grow, but this is easily up there with their best. It's like a cross between LTP, Era, and TCV, but with a nice progression for Homme.

I Sat By The Ocean is going to be a great summertime riff and should be a single.
I Appear Missing is epic

Wonder if there are any B-sides left off the album. With all the collaborations you'd think there's probably something.

My only complaint is that it sounds kinda brickwalled in louder parts (I Sat By THe Ocean is pretty bad), hopefully the dynamics on the vinyl are better.

Yeah, the packaging is pretty bare bones but it looks nice. 45rpm and sounds great so far.

I've had maybe 10 listens to this now. I haven't been this taken by an album for quite awhile. Top effort all round. I love that it's 10 concise tracks, trimmed of fat and just begging for repeat listens.

I can't be bothered rating songs but Side B is awesome. Great run of songs and great sequencing. The whole album is so continuous, with no guest overstepping their mark and the different drummers all play for the song.

Strangely, my least favourite tracks are the more traditional QOTSA. Tail and My God are okay but they don't fire me.

I love My God is the Sun. Tail and Ocean are my least favorite at this point but the album is really solid

Yeah, Oceans isn't anything to write home about (and I'm not too hot on Sun either.)

The rest is good to great, particularly Eyes and Missing.

Oceans is the best pop song Homme has ever written outside of No One Knows. I love it.

Little Sister?

Oh, I'm not keen on Vampyre either.

I'm with ya, Soma.. I like the song but it totally disrupts the flow of the album which is something that has struck me ever since the very first listen. It's probably the worst possible song from teh record to have at no. 3 IMO.

This is a fair assessment. Ocean is fantastic.

My two-sentence review: I'm up to 17 listens in iTunes and it's a solid 4.5 album. The closing track is the only low spot, and even that's a great song.

Yeah, I'm not too big on the closing track. The rest is stellar.

Loving If I Had a Tail right now. Groovy as all fuck.

okay, i'll agree Ocean is a great song. After finally getting to listen to this in my car it sounds good in the two spot.
I'm having some trouble with Tail. The lyrics bother me. I'm sure i will come around though. I do enjoy the music for the most part

I absolutely love Vampyre. Maybe not ideal for the 3 spot but it doesn't bother the albums flow all that much.
