All I'm reading this morning is that "he may have avoided serious injury."

Lost in everything else that happened last night: Gostowski's kick to send the game to overtime was fucking boss.

I did think the Gronk pushoff was a bad call. Can't really remember any of the other calls being complained about at the moment, but I'm sure I'll see this game again.

It was really inexcusable for the Broncos to let them give Gostkowski a chance in the first place. Sure gave me a sinking feeling that they were going to let this slip away. Very glad that feeling was wrong.

There was also the defensive holding on the go ahead TD drive in the red zone that went from 3rd goal at the 19 to 1st goal @ the 5.

Also I don't understand how an excessive "timeout" doesn't stop the clock? Horrible name.

I hate Collinsworth so much. Whenever the Broncos and wonderboy Osweiler were driving or did anything good, he got all excited and thought it was the best thing ever. If the Patriots did anything good, it was just another play.

Oh, was that the one where DT got grabbed by the shoulder pad in the end zone? From what I can recall, that wasn't as bad as the Gronk pushoff but it's one that probably doesn't get called in the playoffs.

yeah they did it by the rule last night, but FYJ is right, they shouldn't really call it a "timeout".

Just in general, this defensive holding shit has got to stop. The 49ers got flagged for it several times in the Cards game. AZ ended up getting 11 downs inside the 5 on one drive. It's fucking ridiculous.

Yeah I can get that, some things have real stupid names in football. For example, I've never been a fan of "offensive pass interference", because why would the offense want to interfere with its own pass?

Looks like Gronk might even play next week. http://www.si.com/nfl/2015/11/30/new-en ... ury-update

I'm actually really encouraged that New England, which basically had zero offensive weapons, took it to overtime last night on the road against one of the best d's in the league.

I think the two major NFL story lines for this season played out last night: shitty officiating and injuries to key players. Virtually every team has been affected this year.

Demaryius Thomas? Yeah. I guess by the book it is, but it's really ticky tacky and kind of bullshit - and this coming from a Bronco fan.

Although it didn't end up affecting the outcome, the clock thing falls on Belichick's shoulders. The guy prides himself on knowing every obscure rule in the NFL book (remember when he had Flutie do the dropkick?) and he wasn't aware of one that was put in just last year. We as fans didn't get it, but he should've been yelling in Brady's ear to snap the ball quickly.

Great, now I've gotta remember which gods I prayed to last night and what I owe each of them. It's going to be awkward when I explain to my wife that our daughter goes to Ganesha.

Good point. Is there an easily accessible link to rule changes by year?

In BB's defense, what happened is exactly why it shouldn't be called a "timeout" whatsoever, because timeouts stop the game clock.

Steelers-Seahawks was probably my favorite game of the year so far. I love good inter-conference matchups, and the combination of good players in that one was pretty incredible. The vets, the young guys like Rawls and Bryant, just really good football.

Bar's been set pretty low this year.
