Rambo TV series in the works at Fox

First a new Rocky movie knocking out most box office rivals last weekend, now this: Fox is developing a Rambo TV series with Sylvester Stallone.

The script deal is for a series titled Rambo: New Blood, which “pays homage to the original Rambo films, [and] will explore the complex relationship between Rambo and his son, J.R., an ex-Navy SEAL.”

Stallone would reprise his role as a buffed-out Vietnam War veteran and former Green Beret with a very special set of skills.

Stallone and Avi Lerner are executive producers on the project with Jeb Stuart (Die Hard) as showrunner. The move comes on the heels of Stallone’s Rocky franchise spin-off Creed opening to 42.1 million over Thanksgiving weekend and generating Oscar buzz for Stallone.

It’s been a while since Stallone has played the iconic Reagan-era character — the fourth and most recent Rambo film (titled simply Rambo) was made in 2008.

Don't love the idea of it being on TV, but the concept sounds like vintage Sly. I hope he writes a lot of it.

He's a very talented actor. I really enjoyed him in Fargo and, despite the flaws of the movies, I thought he was the perfect bilbo baggins.

Yes, a one episode Christmas special that will be a period piece and take place in the 1850's or something. Then, another season starts in February I think.

I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

Watching Parks and Recreation for the first time. Somewhere at the end of season 2 right now. It's an enjoyable show that I will probably keep watching but it's not as great as everyone made me believe it to be. Some characters manage to be funny most of the time (Andy for example, he is my favorite character so far), some others not so much (April, kinda likable and cute, but not very funny; Tom, pretty much only annoying).
It's a show that rarely makes me laugh out loud but it keeps me amused most of the time.
