I'm not a big fan in general and I think this one in particular looks like a disaster. Hope I'm wrong, though.

Whenever there's active promotion on the part of somebody else, whenever I see somebody all dolled up for a fancy photograph and someone's handing out flyers or whenever there's active promotion for something like that, as an imposition on my day, I hate all those people and I want them to fail. I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

I'm all for non-judgmental cinema (Capturing the Friedmans and Julien Donkey-Boy are both good examples), but these are kids in a potentially dangerous situation -- the filmmakers should have raised some red flags.

I'm not exactly sure how I feel about Capturing the Friedmans.
While, yes, it's a great film and there was undoubtedly some coerced testimony against them, it was also clear that the father "liked" young children. I do feel it may have been a bit too sympathetic towards the Friedmans.

It's set (and was filmed) in my hometown, and the actors portayed people I know. It's a shit movie that puts a very Hollywood spin on the actual events.

I just liked the part where they all drowned.
