Chip Kelly to Tennessee kinda makes sense. Would he have the right to refuse a trade?

The guy prides himself on knowing every obscure rule in the NFL book (remember when he had Flutie do the dropkick?) and he wasn't aware of one that was put in just last year. We as fans didn't get it, but he should've been yelling in Brady's ear to snap the ball quickly.

Great, now I've gotta remember which gods I prayed to last night and what I owe each of them. It's going to be awkward when I explain to my wife that our daughter goes to Ganesha.
In BB's defense, what happened is exactly why it shouldn't be called a "timeout" whatsoever, because timeouts stop the game clock.
Yep, by literal definition.

Dude's awesome if you ask me, I just don't get why so many people dislike him.
For me it's the Superman crap, and celebrating every first down he gets. Also seeing him pout on the sidelines when he makes a mistake.

How does Mike Pettine, the guy who was the leak outta the jets locker room under ryan get a job as a head coach? How does Ray Farmer still have a job? Why did they give 9 million to Dwayne Bowe!!!! I thought being a jets, mets and Islanders fan was bad, being a browns fans is just hell.

in fairness every RB and WR celebrates after a 3 yard gain no matter what so the celebration thing isnt that big a deal.

the superman gesture is pretty good and original for a league that has players do all kinds of celebrations for a TD

Yeah I don't get it. Defensive lineman will act like they just won the lottery when they stop a running back at the line of scrimmage, yet people single out Cam for his celebrations.

I think people just have a predisposition about Cam because of the laptop at Florida, then the circumstances surrounding his arrival at Auburn and the superman stuff and look at me stuff will always rub some people the wrong way.

Really outside of some frustration early on in his pro career, he's been a great pro. He is cocky, but most of them are. He's an amazing football player and he does do a lot of work in the community. If anything, he's probably underrated as a QB.

I don't think he's a bad guy at all. I'm a Falcons fan through and through, but fandom aside, I really enjoy watching that team play defense.

He's a pretty fun guy all around, certainly no Jeff George.

Either way, it makes it fun to have an antagonist to boo when he plays our teams.

I was anti-Cam when he first came to the league because he seemed like a lazy idiot. He didn't seem to understand the mental aspect of the game at all and believed he'd be a world beater based on athletic ability alone.

I always knew he was a great athlete but I was worried he'd need a long time to mature and understand this wasn't the college game. I knew nothing about his career/past in college. I don't care about Superman. Whatever.

He just came off like an idiot with no work ethic. And then when the league proved he was an idiot with no work ethic, he started pouting and crying like life wasn't fair.

However, I now see a guy who wants to be great. He wants to be the best pro athlete he can. He's changing his game, he's learning, his mental presence has tremendously increased.

I've loved watching him realize he needs to grow up and then actually take steps to be better. Hard to hate too much about Cam at this point. He's cocky, but whatever. A player at his level, with his raw talent, who has proven he isn't lazy, should have some swagger.

I certainly don't hate Cam, but I wouldn't call myself a true believer either. As I said previously in this thread, I question his passing ability. Despite his last two stellar performances, he's still only completing 57% of his passes. And while, yes, he can make some incredible throws, he also misses several throws a game.

But if Kelvin Benjamin were in and not Ted Ginn dropping all of those passes, he might have a better passer rating.

the problem Carolina has is not Cam Newton, it's the news that they are starting to get a bit lackadaisical during practices. according to press reports, the coach put a stop to it, but it's a very bad sign. this was mentioned, i believe, prior to one of its recent games.

there's a tinge of racism in a lot of the cam newton hate out there. I'll admit that I thought the guy was going to be another great college qb that flames out in the nfl and I was wrong about that.

Yeah, that's the kind of mentality that worried me about Cam when he first got here. I'm just worried about his discipline. Hopefully, he continues to work hard and try to improve. He just can't get complacent.

Yeah, Rodgers with his championship belt isn't cocky at all.
