The stuff I've heard has ranged from "cool" to "that's not for me."LoathedVermin72 wrote:I think I've heard one Wilco song

Must be similar for me because I don't remember that song at all. I must skip it and didn't even put it on my iPod.tragabigzanda wrote:Sky Blue Sky is such a beautiful album, with the exception of "Please Be Patient With Me," which just grates on me.durdencommatyler wrote:I like Sky Blue Sky an awful lot.
I do not care for Star Wars, though.

The one song I've heard was "Jesus, etc." They're not my thing.

Re: Unpopular Music Opinions
they may still not be your thing, but i'd find it very hard to base an opinion on wilco by just a few tracks...most of their albums are different enough and their sound changed a great deal over time

Is Wilco related to Sgt. Bilko?

I just got around to listening to "Star Wars" a few weeks ago, and I really, really like it.
"YHF" and "Ghost" are their clear peaks for me but I really don't subscribe to the conventional wisdom that they've fallen off. I like all of their albums.

Re: Unpopular Music Opinions
Being There and Summerteeth are amazing. When they kicked out Ken Coomer and Glenn tightened up their sound it started heading down for me. Strange I know as Glenn is the far superior drummer technically but I much prefer Ken's style.
YHF has some great moments (and there are a few on the subsequent albums) but overall the sound and performance is lesser to me even though it may be technically and musically more proficient.
The loss of Jay Bennett (from the band) was another major turning point. His was an almost accidental brilliance or so it appeared. From YHF on it seemed (to me) that the dischord and deconstruction was too planned and calculated. And my initial comment was perhaps a tad inflammatory but I had just played YHF after BT and ST and I was unmoved by it. Maybe it hasn't aged well for me.
btw post YHF my fav track is What Light.
