Re: 2015 NFL Season
maybe Matthew Stafford shouldn't overthrow a wide open Calvin Johnson 15 times a game

That was not a face mask. Fire Goodell. He said a few days ago that the officials do an extraordinary job. Yeah, right, if you are so dead set on the integrity of the game, how can you and the owners let this happen? It's just a matter of time before there's a bad call in the Super Bowl and the wrong team wins.
I am attending the Pats-Eagles game on Sunday. Thinking about sporting a "I hate the NFL" sign. Cause I really just watch out of hatred now.

That may not have been a face mask, but I can see why it was called. In real time, it sure looked like one, and unless you're going to allow facemask penalties to be reviewed (and I'm fine with that), on a safety-related penalty like that you're going to err on the side of throwing the flag.Coach wrote:That was not a face mask. I didn't see the facemask call or the Hail Mary until this morning (I actually passed out on the couch with 4-5 minutes left), but here's a good look at it: http://gfycat.com/FamousHugeBrownbutterfly
I can understand people's frustration, but then again, he did touch the facemask, and since they got rid of the 5-yard penalty for incidental facemasks, it's been commonplace for refs to call the penalty for non-severe contact. So even though it looks ridiculous, it's been called like that for a few years.
And it's not as egregious as when they called "contact to the head" for this hit against Drew Brees:

I don't really understand why all the Lions were so deep in the end zone on that play. I thought it was a common practice to have all the DBs simply stand on the goal line then react once the ball is thrown.

Re: 2015 NFL Season
there's a lot of things that were fucked up on that play. why were their corners playing up close and protecting the sidelines? why did they allow arod to roll right? how in the world were they playing the receivers and not the ball? why weren't players like megatron out there?
the simple answer to all of these questions is: Lions

So Ansah wasn't rushing on the play either. Awesome. Awesome Job coach. Do you resign after the game, or Monday morning?
