Re: TV: Arrested Development
I'm rewatching them too because I haven't seen these episodes since they aired on tv and want to refresh myself. I'm with you on the clever, but rarely hilarious feeling as the show is good for about 2 or 3 laugh out loud moments a show. Buster yelling "I'm a monster!!!!" And tearing apart the blinds is still one of my favorite moments. The Argonaut wrote:I haven't gotten to the new episodes, yet. I've been re-watching the old ones. Right now, I'm somewhere in the third season. The show is definitely clever, but it is rarely hilarious and definitely overrated. Sorry, guys.

This sounds like it would go well on a hot dog.spike wrote:the characters eating parmesan cheese and mustard is - besides being hilarious - a nod to martin mull, who plays family PI gene parmesan and also played colonel mustard in clue.

Re: TV: Arrested Development

Pretty brilliant idea for a clip from a movie making fun of a Roger Corman flick.
Apparently, that's actually Joel and Trace, too.

Halfway through season 2. I'm enjoying it, but I think it's gotten too over-the-top, what with Buster losing his hand and the Mrs. Featherbottom nonsense. Also, what's with the huge amount of ADR in this show? It gets a tiny bit distracting.

That was actually one of the few things I didnt LOVE about AD. It got better, but its lower echelon as far as AD goes.

Re: TV: Arrested Development
I think Season 4 is my favorite. I wonder if it was designed to be seen in binges. I think I would be completely lost watching one episode a week.

Re: TV: Arrested Development
So, is there going to be a season 5? Cause at the end of the last episode there was a "next time on Arrested development"
Or is my netflix fucked up and i dont get to watch episode 16?
Excellent, excellent season. Hype and excitement aside, that really was great. Way better than season 3.

Re: TV: Arrested Development
The best part about AD is that the characters grow on you. Like Seinfeld. Until you are sold on the characters, many of the jokes may fall flat. But you start to learn their quirks and at at some point any line they deliver just becomes hilarious.

They always do that to add a bit more to the story line even though it's complete bullshit. I believe they did it on the last episode of season 3 too.Strat wrote:So, is there going to be a season 5? Cause at the end of the last episode there was a "next time on Arrested development"

Re: TV: Arrested Development
I was expecting a more complete story arc. a lot of things were left open. I think their will be another season.WtOB? wrote:They always do that to add a bit more to the story line even though it's complete bullshit.
