The band's take for the show was only $100,000? If there were 40,000 people there, that works out to $2.50 per ticket, or something like only 3-4% of the ticket sales. Gotta be more than that, right?
It's the Vitalogy Foundation amount that's listed on every ticket.

Every concert they ever play a portion of the ticket fee goes to their vitality foundation in which they donate to some local charity on the tour. I believe
That's a lot of money going to defense, which I'd wager is not at the top of PJ's priorities. Glad they have opted to give big support to very specific charities.
hell yeah. they're bucking the system. which is something we thought they stopped doing a while ago.
While I don't necessarily like some of the band's politics and choices for charitable giving, there's no denying that it is a very charitable and concerned group of guys. And if they get a tax write-off for the concerts, so be it.
I'd love to see a list of bands in order of the total amount of charitable donations they've made. Which kind of defeats the purpose of donating to charity (it's not a competition, or should necessarily be advertised), but PJ has got to be way up there, if not near the top

As long as the list is sorted in regards to "percentage of wealth donated," as some bands make more than others and have more to give, but might not give more of a percentage of total profits to charity.

I would up-vote this if thats what we did here in this here forum so consider my vote up for you and this post liked...thanks for the poignant and heartfelt realization about my feelings towards a band I once loved (still do in a nostalgic hope-they-will-somehow-manage-to-make-good-music-again-someday-soon-kinda-way) but have been disillusioned since S/T like many others here, hence the lack of posting or frequenting of this board...Oh PJ where hast thou gone??
