I love this show.

If you like shows that are not easily accessible, a little challenging, and have a splash of Twin Peaks meets Lost....you will enjoy The Leftovers.

A friend of mine is in love with this show too. She keeps telling me I need to watch it. Now that I have Coach's recommendation I'm going to have to start it.

do you guys remember the HBO show John From Cincinnati? if anyone ever complains about craziness or a show being too "out there," they should watch that abortion of a show.

A guy I'm in a play with right nah and another guy I know who designs a lot of lighting/sound around town (and also acts) are both in this. I may have to check it out.

haha, i liked that show. it definitely has similarities to the leftovers as far as accessibility, but both shows have interesting, well played characters.

i just read an interview where lindelof says he's hoping for a season 3 and has material for it, so i guess it's just up to hbo. season 2 ratings were lower than season 1. /:

HBO doesn't really care about ratings though. This season has gotten rave reviews by critics and viewers. A lot of times that is all they care about. It's still probably 50/50.

Bad finale, a waste of an episode on Tommy and Meg following the cool International Assassin episode, and lack of conveying anything in the way of character motivations really brought this season down for me. I'm still not sure how John seems to have such great influence over Jardin as just a fireman or why they would burn down Eddie Winslow's house because he can read Palm prints? Is it because Regina Kings father was oddly spiritual and it was a reaction to him molesting John? What is EEEE-VIE!!!!'s motivation for becoming part of the GR?

I thought this was pretty obvious...

"When Evie writes "YOU UNDERSTAND" on the pad to show her mother, she is, like Michael at the church, finally putting out into the open all the dark secrets that the Murphy family has refused to discuss or acknowledge for so long. The Sudden Departure never touched Jarden, but that doesn't mean the town isn't as in denial about tragedies as the world that starts on the other side of that rickety bridge. Given the violent, unspoken dysfunction at the heart of her family, you can understand why Evie might have found the idea of being a living reminder so appealing."

I'm not going out on a limb here because many of the most respected TV critics have pretty much echoed this sentiment, but The Leftovers is the best or among the best best shows on TV right now.

If you are up to speed and finished Season 2, search the blogs for clarification on stuff.
