Seems to me that DC have made it very clear they are trying to be extremely different from Marvel. At least in terms of what really matters about the movies.

That doesn't mean it will automatically be good. There's all types of bad, you know.

Of course. But nothing about them makes me think they will be bad. They've done just about everything right so far.

We're talking about Universe building here.

Nothing about Man of Steel and Green Lantern give you pause?

MOS, no. I love MOS. And Green Lantern is about as relevant to this phase of DC as Ang Lee's Hulk is to this phase of Marvel.

Okay, relevance now. So that leaves only Man of Steel.

So what's the the "them"? What's the "everything they've done right so far?" One fucking movie? That's impressive confidence.

They hired Zack Snyder to oversee the cinematic universe, and the other directors on board so far are David Ayer (whose movie has an awesome cast, a bold concept, and a killer trailer) and James Wan. You bet your ass I'm confident.

Until they make a good movie, I can't say they're doing anything right.

Well, obviously we disagree on whether they have achieved that qualifier. And, frankly, all they would have needed to do is hire Snyder as overseer and I would be convinced, so everything else is just icing on the cake.

Fair enough. Even if we call MoS a good movie...

They'll need to make more than one good movie for me to say they're doing everything right.

I like Snyder ok, but all I see is a tired, desperate, rushed mess of a movie. I could be wrong, but it looks like this has been done already.

Actually, I'll qualify it further, they'll need to make more than one movie before I'll say they're doing everything right.

Point is, we don't know yet. The only thing we know is that they want to have a cinematic universe. Suicide Squad shows promise based on the little we've seen, I'll grant you. But Dawn looks like a cluster fuck.

As Peeps pointed out, Marvel did a good job at slowly introducing characters over a period of time. DC looks like they want to jam everyone into one big fucking movie and call it a day. Hopefully, they can pull it off. But it's way too early to praise their achievements or to bash them for failing.

I get excited about people involved above all other things, so, like I said, the roster of filmmakers they're assembling tells me almost everything I need to know about their approach. That is enough to tell me they're doing something I can get on board with.

There you go. I totally understand that sentiment.
