first I'm not sure how josh homme sounds any less brocal than john garcia
second I think it's pretty obvious that john has a more powerful voice

but I'll admit I've spent more of my time with the queens. they are both great bands, I just think kyuss is ultimately more dynamic in their sound.

I've never been able to get into Kyuss; never really digged Garcias voice. Guess I should probably give it another shot.

It's a pretty significant obstacle to overcome.

I saw someone disparagingly refer to Garcia's "brocals" in the comments under the new Homme AV Club article, I thought that was perfect.

Just trudged through the album catalogue of QotSA. I believe it's probably the first time I managed to listen to both LtP and EV in their entirety, and it will be the last. There maybe 5-6 tracks on both those albums that I'd care to hear again. And the reason for my luke warm feelings for SftD is the radio shite. Sure it's cool on first listen but it just pissed me off. It's a good album though, but not great.

S/T and Rated R are still my faves and ...Like Clockwork is on daily rotation. I really like it and even at this early stage I feel I'll be listening to it for many a decade.
