I haven't seen a movie on "opening night" since The Phantom Menace... so yeah.LoathedVermin72 wrote:Everywhere is opening it on the 17th. I would think, once it's out you come into this place at your own risk.

My friend just told me she was invited to a pre screening this weekend by her boss. Is she lying?

Yeah sure. Sounds like the only thing she'll be screening is her boss' lightsaber.Strat wrote:My friend just told me she was invited to a pre screening this weekend by her boss. Is she lying?

So this is screwed Up.
Killarney, down in Kerry where some parts of the film were shot are gettingthe first screening of Force awakens.
I know they had a good time down there but that good?

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII: The Force Awakens (2015)
I know a certain few will roll their eyes at this but I love this and agree:
https://www.yahoo.com/movies/s/q-force- ... 37242.htmlABRAMS: The thing that is so fun about "Star Wars," and I remember this from when I was a kid, was the communal experience of being with hundreds of people and getting to scream and laugh and cheer and cry with the story. It's got that kind of a pulse and that kind of an engine. Though I love that we all have access to movies on the devices in our pockets and I love that home screens are often better than theater 17 at the multiplex, I also feel like movies speak to a human desire, if not need, to congregate and to experience stories communally. They're experiences that allow us to feel that connectivity, which is truly what "Star Wars" is all about — the Force and the idea that we're all connected. In whatever format it is, whatever screening, whatever the best available version is, I would just argue that, if possible, to try to see it with a crowd.

I saw REM play in Dublin then went to the midnight showing of Phantom Menace opening night.
Sublime to ridiculous.

For at least through Saturday please discuss plot with spoilers. general reactions are fine without. Lets give people a few days to catch up.

That's a great day right there. I think it was midnight showing for me too.dimejinky99 wrote:I saw REM play in Dublin then went to the midnight showing of Phantom Menace opening night.

For as much as TPM gets blasted, it was a great experience seeing a new SW movie after all those years.

Since most of us are in the US, I think spoiler tags should probably continue to be used until the evening of the 17th, US eastern time. After that, I don't think we should expect people to contain their reviews in spoilers. But that's just me.southp wrote:I would think, once it's out you come into this place at your own risk.

I dunno--I mean, if you come to this thread on opening day, you've gotta expect to read about how Chewie betrays Han and feeds him to a pit of wamp rats.Strat wrote:At the last I think you gotta go through the Friday.Simple Torture wrote:Since most of us are in the US, I think spoiler tags should probably continue to be used until the evening of the 17th, US eastern time.
