Also psyched on Baroness. How's that Kamasi Washington record? I took one cursory listen and it just reminded me of updated Herbie Hancock. I like a lot of the Brainfeeder stuff, but I wasn't sold after my one listen.

I like it, but I'm not a Jazz expert by any stretch so comparing it to classics would be hard for me. I got it when i just started a very long commute in traffic and it was great to put on and listen to for over an hour at a time. It just hit a nerve with me.

Sprained Ankle, the album from Julien Baker is pretty nice.

I've been listening to the Jim O'Rourke album. Friends with benefits is an amazing song.

There's a bunch of things I've heard a handful of times that I need to return to (David Torn's Only Sky, Chelsea Wolfe's Abyss, The Necks' Vertigo) but nothing has really stuck with me so far this year.

I'm happy to report I found a bunch of excellent stuff through various 'end of year' lists, I may put together a 2015 mix if I get the time.
