Film: The BFG (Spielberg Summer 2016
Can't wait for this.
A month after the release of their collaboration in Bridge of Spies, here’s the first look at Steven Spielberg and Mark Rylance’s next project: an adaptation of the Roald Dahl book about a Big Friendly Giant (Rylance) and Sophie (Ruby Barnhill), the young girl he befriends. Bill Hader, Rebecca Hall and Jermaine Clement co-star; the screenplay is by the late Melissa Mathison, with whom Spielberg previously worked on E.T: the Extra

Re: Film: The BFG (Spielberg)
Steve Albini wrote:Whenever there's active promotion on the part of somebody else, whenever I see somebody all dolled up for a fancy photograph and someone's handing out flyers or whenever there's active promotion for something like that, as an imposition on my day, I hate all those people and I want them to fail. I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

Really looking forward to this; glad to see Spielberg making this kind of movie. And written by Melissa Mathison!

I will see it. My daughter covered Roald Dahl in school this past year and we watched the older cartoon version of The BFG, so she'll be excited.
