a number are really good. But by our current standards (I think Marvel and Nolan really upped the game in two different directions, and I think this franchise is trying to split the difference) none are great.

as much as I've liked most of the movies, none really have any kind of compulsive watchabiltiy. Some great performances, but no one I really want to spend much time with. Even Wolverine.

I still don't get how BvS has too many characters. There looks to be at least 20 X-Men in this. That's my biggest problem with the X-Men no matter the format. Too many mutants. Give us a 8 member team that we can actually get to know and feel something for and stick with them for a while. That said I'm glad they are going the grand adventure route over the humans hate us can't we all get along stuff. Seems like that is all the X-Men is now.

I agree the number of characters isn't a problem in BVS. Though in the Xmen part of the problem is that other than 5 guys everyone else feels totally disposable.

Exactly. Why not just have a team of say Cyclops, Nightcrawler, Wolverine, Storm, Jean Grey, Colossus, Beast, Kitty Pryde and just stick with them for a few movies. It's kind of hard to appear special when there are millions of mutants running around. Especially since they haven't come up with an interesting new mutant in 25 years.

Again, I don't think most people have a problem with the number of characters in BvS. Just that it's hard to introduce that many new "main" characters in such a short time and keep shit interesting. It's a legitimate concern, not a deal breaker. There are movies that have pulled that kind of thing off. But there are many more that haven't.

Basically, your criticism with X-Men applies to BvS, too. It's the same thing. And both of these movies look like they may suffer from bloat.

I don't know. You got Batman and Superman and Luther. Wonder Woman and Aquaman are cameos. Zod/Doomsday is just Luther's muscle. I don't see the bloat.

I would agree that cameos as a way of introducing characters (Wonder Woman/Aquaman) for future movies is bad cricket but these film franchises are really episodic TV on the big screen.

Well you seem to know a lot more about the movie than I do. I have no idea how big WW or Aquaman will be. Or Flash. Or Doomsday. Or whether or not there will be Gotham villains. Or if we'll see any flahsbacks that show Robin.

And I know it's a dream sequence but introducing Dark Seid's little demon friends seems like an unnecessary touch. Again, we'll see. I could be wrong about either of these movies.

I think they both look fairly uninteresting. This one gets the edge in my interest, though.

The trailer has failed to get me excited about this movie.
Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?

From what I've read that is probably the plan going forward. Likely not that team in particular. But something along those lines

Is the drama of this film negated by the fact that we already saw, at the end of Days of Future Past, that everything turns out OK for these characters?

easy fix for that, would have been to start this next movie with the "future" seen. Then have Wolverine "wake up" and still be in the past. He was just dreaming, the futures all wide open for anything.

Except they have said Deadpool takes place after Apocalypse?

I got no idea where Fox is planning on going with this (Hopefully Onslaught)

That would be... just... awful.
