JONESBORO, Ga. -- Mookie Blaylock, former NBA player for the Atlanta Hawks, is on life support following a car accident.

The vehicle collision happened just after noon on Friday, near Tara Boulevard and Dixon Road. The wreck, according to Jonesboro Police officer Franklin Allen, involved a van and a car. The car burst into flames on impact.

It's interesting because Pearl Jam are also on life support and may be dead.

And Mookie's getting support not only from ballplayers like Clippers star Chris Paul but also from the band Pearl Jam, who named their debut album Ten after Mookie's jersey number.

The band tweeted: "Sending good thoughts to Mookie" along with a photo of the former player.

We extend our best wishes as well.
