Carrie Fisher did drugs and smoked heavily half of her life. 'nuff said.

They got this film right. The tone and humour and everything was spot on.
I want to see it again.

best part of this movie for me was that little droid and Ford. Ford was spot on. Rey was some nice eye candy. Kylo was a whiny little bitch.
other then that...it pretty much solidified my thoughts of Abrams being a hack.
the movie was a complete rehash. come up with something new man. everything from droid on planet contains vital info found by force sensitive person to Han being taken down by someone close to him while the newby watches on in horror.
it was a prettier remake of ANH.

i assume at Han?southp wrote:Guys... I cried. There, I said it.
i was more pissed that he died. i felt it ridiculous. right when i heard Kylo was his son i'm thinking "hmm, wonder if he kills Han..."
it seemed so forced. there was no dynamic between Han, Leia or Kylo. i didn't feel any connection between any of them other than us being told they were family. oh, and little time for anyone (Chewbacca!?!) to mourn the death. have to speed off this exploding death star...which by the way was very anti-climatic.

Irish monks lived here for hundreds of years totally isolated & keeping the written word alive while Europe was in the dark ages..that rhymes with the Jedi story for me

Jedi gets a lo of guff but watched it the other night and it's a great film in a Star Wars sense.
Thinking about , ESB is the least Star Wars of the OT and this one. No humour other than Han and Leia's back and forths, no big space battles, etc. I mean it's still probably the best one but is low on the usual ingredients list that make the Star Wars recipie is what I mean.

I wonder if Ford only signed on under the condition that JJ would kill his character.

I dunno maybe you don't have the same lifelong connection with the character? It a was incredibly sad to see a hero who you have loved for so long finally die. Even if t was the right thing to do for the plot and actor. Who by the way, absolutely crushed it in this movie. Best Ford appearance in anything since Last Crusade.Sgt. Re: STAR WARS SPOILER THREAD. SPOILERS WITHIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
the two times it got a little dusty for me was literally the first 2 seconds of the movie with the words "Star Wars" and the iconic music, and (even though I knew it was coming) when Han appeared for the first time.
I literally time warped to 1983.

Just reading that they did a good bit of filming on Skelig and over two seasons to get differen climate/weather, so it does feature again in the next film.

Aw man, watched the first time almost entirely through tears, especially at the character reveals.
Second time, just got that heart bursting happy when your face is about to break cos your grinning so much.
Looked around those sitting beside me on the second viewing. Big smiles and tears everywhere
