It is such a relief to have a layered and interesting villain in a blockbuster movie.

Y'know, the spoiler thread is already 9 pages long. I'm gonna see this tonight, and I'm not even going to bother catching up on that thread.
Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?

I liked that Kylo had to follow orders, and the rivalry with General Hux. I like that he had equals that he couldnt just force choke. Kind of an Anti-Anakin in that you were watching the light side pulling at him.

Also, I loved the storm troopers turning around when Kylo was going nuts.

Yeah he's definitely more fleshed out and complex as a villain struggling with wanting to be bad but not being able to. His lightsaber tantrums were awesome :)

On that, Rey sorta owns him psychologically from the minute she sees into his head. She's got latent/natural force talent and he knows and it's terrifying him.
This explains her beating him in the forest for me.

Lotta good stuff in there B. Especially if you don't plan on seeing it a second time.

So much more stuff noticed on the second viewing for me

And that.

Him hitting himself in an attempt to make himself angry somehow to one up his force powers speaks volumes also

Don't get tho how he's SO powerful in the first half of the movie then isn't in the second. But again I think Rey has unmanned him completely

Funny how so many people had the same impression. I don't think anyone's complaining about though either. It was a good movie.

It's like when U2 came back with Vertigo. They needed their U2 hit formula back so edge belts out the Coca Cola riff & they get to the chorus in 30 seconds.
Same old formula but done just differently enough to make it good:)

Crap comparison but yknow

I wish Snoke has mentioned something about the "incomplete training" prior to the last scene. I supposed we could've assumed it based on the way he turned on Luke but a more obvious mention would have explained why Rey could go toe-to-toe with him.

There's a thing called collider Jedi council. Three lads sit around talking everything Star Wars. They're doing their review on YouTube later tonight with spoilers. Can't wait. They really know their shit and will probably be able to make pretty accurate guesses on all the questions we have/you will have after seeing it

My only other criticism is that we spent 5 1/2 movies watching and being reminded that an apprentice needs to be trained in the force before doing anything meaningful, while here Rey seems to have figured things out quite well for herself, and did so in little less than an hour. So either she is a special brand of Jedi, or Obi Wan and Yoda were full of shit.
