OF COURSE this is what it was. Disney is not going to let their big new corporate property flop. They were going to play it as safe as possible after the prequel debacle.dprival78 wrote:how much of this do you think was disney wanting to make sure they brought as many people back on board as possible for this thing? all the nostalgia/plot-rehashing safely and firmly locks in all the existing nerds, and the new faces/bb8 get the new generation hooked. now going forward, we have everyone along for the ride, which will hopefully go in some new and interesting directions.

Well it's obvious Disney wanted as many people on board but say what you will of them as an entity they don't sell shit. They'd want this to be the best it could be in order for it to be viable for their shareholders and to be able to stand behind it as a quality product.dprival78 wrote:how much of this do you think was disney wanting to make sure they brought as many people back on board as possible for this thing? all the nostalgia/plot-rehashing safely and firmly locks in all the existing nerds, and the new faces/bb8 get the new generation hooked. now going forward, we have everyone along for the ride, which will hopefully go in some new and interesting directions.

Finn being lando's kid would be terrible.
I liked the new characters a lot. It was the old ones I didn't care for.

Gonna go ahead and disagree. And Hammill and Fisher already ain't distinguished thespians. Ridley is like a blend of Kiera Knightley and Emilia Clarke.Monkey_Driven wrote:Who is? What makes you think they won't see the success of this one as a reason to play it just as safe for the next two?

"Do you have a boyfriend?"
"I like this." (Apparently Han has never before touched Chewie's crossbow in all their years together.)
