Looks like a film/tv version of this thing might just actually happen (fingers crossed).

And Idris Elba is apparently in talks to star. :luv: :luv: :luv:

This comes on the heals of news that Matthew McConaughey was reportedly offered any role he wanted. And sources say he's eyeing "the villain." Which means we could get Elba as Roland facing off against McConaughey as Flagg.

Which would be the greatest thing that ever happened.

I kinda wish the casting was reversed but it's not a deal breaker.

I'm gonna be pissed if this conflicts with him being Bond.

McConaughey is a GREAT choice for the Man in Black. Elba's great too. Looking forward to this.

It won't. Not that he will be. But when he is, it won't.

I burned through the first two on audio during commutes. Haven't got round to the rest.

Are the books any good? I've heard mixed things, and the stuff I know about sounds horrendous.

I feel pretty mixed about what I've read so far - a great movie adaptation is entirely possible, though, depending on how things comes together.

Seriously, Norm, they get better. Books 3, 4 & 5 are stellar. Just brilliant.

The series, in all fairness, is uneven. But it lands on the plus side on balance. It's an incredible journey and well worth your time if you're a fan of King at all.
