Re: STAR WARS SPOILER THREAD. SPOILERS WITHIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thinking more about this (and reserving the right to change my mind with Monday's second viewing) I am growing more and more convinced that the new hope comparison as critique is superficial at best. Some similar story beats but the tenor and character development are usually quite different.

I saw National Review and knew I was going to regret the three minutes that followed

I'll say this much: Adam Driver was really awesome in this movie, which is a feat considering how stupid his character was.

lol no. Ridley and Boyega sucked (they both have the annoying affectation a lot of young actors these days have, where they move their mouths in really exaggerated ways while delivering dialogue), and Gleeson (who is a generally terrible actor) gave one of the most hilariously awful performances I've ever seen.

Adam Driver is always a joy to watch. I'm excited to know he doesn't disappoint here.

I'll be seeing this film in about two hours, normally I would interpret what you said as a spoiler of sorts but I have no idea who the fuck the actors are.

Trust me, this is a thing. Watch the way Emilia Clarke says "We can stop judgment day from happening!" in Terminator: Genisys. You'll start seeing it everywhere.

How is saying if performances were good or bad a spoiler?

In the sense that it could alter my true reaction to the film... I was also being facetious.
